Went with a buddy to drop another friend's daughter back off at St Ben's last night and decided to take a 10 minute detour through the St John's campus. We stopped in front of the chapel to take a quick peak in there, as the various times I've been on campus for football, I never really explored anything else. While my friend was in there, I saw a guy walk by the chapel with an ice auger - possibly the most stereotypical St John's thing ever. Anyway, beautiful campus. Just a shame about all the terrible people that go/went there.

Augers are a pretty common thing on campus.  I hope they still come back for games even after Tommy graduates. ;)

Way back in the day, I used to set up a portable spear shack on Sag. It was just me and a couple of the local farmers, who got quite a kick out of seeing a Johnnie out there. When my boys were there, angling on Sag and Gemini were a popular winter activity. Long as you're sitting around drinking beer, might as well wet a line, too.

I was walking to a client meeting this morning and a person with me pointed out there was a "trailer hotel" on top of the building we were passing.  I had no idea what that meant and didn't believe him when he told me.  There are some things so dumb that you can't believe anyone believes them.

Ain't no trailer in Stearns County that costs $400 a night.

Yup, it's the best time of the year.  Gots to roll out the Christmas classics.

What's with Frosty and Rudolph being showing the beginning of December-used to be these were shown a few days before Christmas. Christmas is like a two month event now.

OzJohnnie

There are only 11 shopping days left before Christmas, Scrooge. You better get going. ;) :D

One has to wonder if, when cousin Eddie says "Sh***ers full", is he talking about ust(d) or Washington DC...

What would make someone nostalgic for UST, I wonder?  The Vegas Strip, perhaps.  Maybe the imitation watch shops on Canal St.

Before the kick-off of the Stagg Bowl I want to go on record with my prediction. UMHB 27 UMU 13

Now, if this comes to pass, (which with my track record for picking winning teams seems a bit unlikely), I think the Johnnies could make an argument for being the #2 team in the country. The wider the spread if the Cru wins, the better the argument. If the Purple Raiders can pull off the minor upset, then that goes out the window.

After watching the Cru play both the Johnnies and the Warhawks back to back, it is my opinion that the Johnnies were the better team. Had they played this year I am almost certain that the Johnnies would have defeated the Warhawks - but we'll never know.

Tipping my hat to MUC57 when I say, "Go everybody!" - even though I know he is rooting for the Purple Raiders.

I can see the positives in staying there... as a frequent hotel guest, myself.. I get sick of sitting in the bars with my downtime.  There's not usually a great place to lounge in your room, unless you've booked a suite.  There's a nice quiet sitting area outside of the airstream - I would definitely try it out.
