Ret -- Thought that about Josey, which is something we would not have seen much, if at all, DeNerian Thomas was healthy. Seemed like he got more touches than the box showed.

Sounds like they will have Caruso on at halftime with Keith and Pat

Hope you were ok with all of the Caruso and none of the Pat and Keith. :)

Caruso was fantastic at half.  Glad we were able to have him on.

You were tolerable. Lol. Moreso was implying that it was on the d3football broadcast which included Pat and Keith.

It was great insights, but I am a bit biased as a Caruso/Tommie fan. Ruined my plans to put the kids to bed at halftime though.

Comments and maybe a couple observations now that the 2018 season is completed:
1. Playoffs need to have 4 designated regions...call them north, south, east and west...or 1, 2, 3, 4 or a, b, c, d. Then rotate the host sites for the semifinals among the top for teams every playoff cycle. North and south the first year and east and west the next...however add the caveat that a top 4 team may not host a semifinal game two years in row. The way the system is now the championship runs through Belton and Shennandoa. UMHD is not going to lose a regular season game in the near future.

2. Championship game needs to be moved back to Saturday morning / afternoon. I would bet 99% of all D3 games during the season are played in daylight. NCAA and ESPN rule i guess but it's stupid to play it at night! I got home from a happy hour yesterday and slept through most of the first half.

3. Why did Mount Union pitch the ball all over the place on the last play? Didn't they catch the ball at their own 45 w 13 seconds to go? Couldn't the receiver had stepped out of bounds? I think they still had one timeout. They could have run 2 more plays...even throw one across the middle for 15 yards and set up a prayer.

Without commenting on what time the game should kick off, I'll just say that it's more like 15-20% of D-III games are played at night.

Also, Mount used its final timeout when Fulford was sacked.

With the off season transfers of Luke Poorman to MHB, Dom Davis to Walsh and Jake Reid to Wabash there isn't a viable QB left on the roster behind Fulford.  The 'best' QB option (and I use the term very loosely) is sophomore Keeney that you saw on the last play.  The throw he made was about the limit of his arm strength and there was no way he was going to be able to chuck it down field.  The only other QB is actually a WR/RB that can't throw it any better and he's been hurt too.

Mount is in dire need of serious QB recruit ahead of next season.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Mount kept lateraling b/c it was 4th and 21 and the WR caught the ball 5 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. He was right next to the sideline, but couldn't step out or they would have given up possession.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Did anyone see a bit of a parallel between Blake Elliot and T J Oshie, oops, Josey, in the way they were used against UMU? Bringing him into the backfield to get him more involved in the offense seemed to coincide with UMHB taking over the game.

Sorry art, I was taking a jab at Brockport, not you. ;D

Yes, thought the same. Saw this in Collegeville in 2003 during the West Region final. Elliott was focused on and held to about 20 yards receiving so Coach moved him to the backfield in the 2nd half and he ended up w/ about 140 yards rushing.

Foss, I thought this board would be all PJs and Christmas morning over the free publicity received at the Stagg with that great still of "John and Blake ."

Foss

Yeah DOC, that was quite the photo. Appropriate it was w/ Elliott, I imagine.

Ok...I didn't realize it was 4th down. I hadn't been completely dialed into the game...was driving around picking up and dropping off kids in between evening naps.

They did the rotation thing in the 80's and 90's, that's why SJU played at Dayton in 89 and 91-not a fan of that.
How about the stadium for the DII championship-would like that for DIII-crazy highschool stadium!

Congratulations to Jackson Erdmann on winning the Gagliardi Trophy & for being named the d3football.com Offensive Player of the Year & to Gary Fasching for being named the Hero Sports Division III Coach of the Year as well as all of the other Johnnies (& players representing the MIAC) that were recognized! That's two Johnnie recipient's in the last three years! I read that Erdmann only completed 5 full games out of the 13 played. Ironically, my wife's alma mater, Morningside, is playing in the NAIA national championship tonight in Daytona, FL. Their QB, Trent Solsma, was named the NAIA Player of the Year last night.

He's thrown for 5,097 yards, 68 touchdowns to 6 interceptions & has a passer efficiency rating of 199.7, has completed 72.6% of his passes (366-504), & averages 362.4 yards per game. He's thrown for 13,739 yards & 161 touchdowns in his career.

I have to imagine that he's completed more than 5 games this season. I wonder what Erdmann's numbers would look like if he were to have played the same minutes?

I'm watching a little NFL for the first time this year, Jets v Texans.  It's completely blowing my view that the NFL is engineered to within an inch of perfection  completely out of the water.  The Jets are awful.

In my opinion the NFL is unwatchable.
