A little holiday poem for everyone. APOLOGIES to anyone left out of the roll call. Tried thinking of as many folks as possible but obviously will have missed countless more. Merry Christmas and happy new year to all!


Twas the night before Christmas, when all through Post Patterns
Not a poster was stirring, not even the trolls;
The MIAC thread was kept open on the West board with care,
In hopes that Touchdown Tommy soon would be there;

The Tommies were nestled all snug in their beds;
While visions of cake danced in their heads;
And RoR in his SJU 'kerchief, and I in my Johnnies cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap,

When there on the boards arose such a clutter,
I sprang from my bed to see what's all aflutter
Away to the screen I flew like a flash,
Clicked open my tabs and hoped d3 didn't crash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave a lustre of midday to my screen below,
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But a longtime poster, who rarely came around here,

With a What Would Glenn do? shirt that proved he was a Tommie,
I knew in a moment he must be Touchdown Tommy.
More rapid than SJU receivers the posters they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:

"Now, unnecessarily pessimistic 56321! now overly optimistic JamtoTommie, Rev and MIACMan!
On, hockey gal Bennie! on aussie rules lover Oz! on Roney soldier USTBench and the teacher Robert Zimmerman

Now !! !!??! LOL Chicago Tommie!, now Maryland repete!, now we-still-have-Devean Old Augie!, now fisherman finsleft!
On Judge Johnnie Red! on lawyer Johnnie_ESq, on doctor Kilted Rat, and all those others who have left

Now feisty SJURube and a second Murphy called Faunch, now S. Johnson fans Royals Fan and GoldandBlueBU
On NYCer sfury and old-timer Retired old Rat, On hazzben, who never danced at the school called BU

Now Army's Sagatag Sam!, now long-post Art!, now developing Dusty!, now Tracy's Stanbob!
On Caps gent Retagent!, on Tommie-tweaker sjusection105!, on miac952 and the cheesehead named BlueDevilBob

Now Mr. Ypsi! now Gustie sowilson! Now Linfield cats bluenote and Wildcat11
On soldier kubiack and Bielat-planter Frank Rickard! On the Whitworth Rat whose karma is about minus three thousand one hundred eleven!

Now longtime Cobber Redtooth!, now Ritz72, and fellow lineman Duffman!
On the bookie AO and the Scot called OAS!, on d3 dback Keith and D3 admin Pat Coleman

Now MIAC writer MIACmaniac! Now longlost Willy Wonka! Now Cali's Tmert! Now muc57 and fellow old 57Johnnie!
On Veek! On Chewey! On Lone Augie Backer and where have you gone Red Hot Bennie!

To the top of the page! To the top of the board!
Now post away! Post away! before D1 talk and backup school chat leaves us bored

And then in a twinkling I saw on my screen
The jabs and taunts that TT typed when he made a scene

As I glanced away from the 03 Stagg DVD,
Onto the board stormed Tommy talking of Caruso's stout D

He was dressed all in purple, from his head to his toes
And he said he'd been scared during SJU's lowest of lows

But now his posts--how they glowed! his sentences, how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, and he smiled like when Keating gave Blake another carry!

He ripped off his Tommie gear to show Johnnie red
And he again expressed glee that UST's reign was now dead

A John G bobblehead he grasped tightly in his hand
As he fondly recalled when Pat C said he was banned

He had a broad face and asked Duff about his favored beers
And reaffirmed he was ready to give the Johnnies his cheers

He was funny and caustic, his right old Johnnie self
And I laughed when I read him, in spite of myself

A wink of an emoji and a taunt of his pal Bench
And I knew right then he'd rid himself of that UST stench

He spoke not a word but went straight to his work,
And filled the postings with the occasional words of a jerk

And hitting the key to type his message in all caps
He promised to return to hand out some written slaps

But I saw him type before he went out of sight
PLUS-K TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!
