QuoteIs a 'Futures Game" what the rest of the world calls a JV or JV inter-squad game?

105,

Yes, that is correct. Although, we are probably now in the minority (old school) calling it "JV inter-squad".

In footy they call it playing for the ones or twos.  Sometimes the ones are referred to as the seniors or firsts but the twos are always the twos or seconds, never the juniors.  In cricket they say the first eleven or second eleven.

Oz,

Thanks! I try to learn something new everyday. I guess I am good to go for today! Besides I wasn't very good at the "Where am I now game?" I am a typical St. Paul guy that has difficulty navigating Minneapolis the two or three times a year I cross the river.  ;D

Colorado law now allows supermarkets to sell regular BEER. Today's weekly ad has Leinies for $15/12 pack but I don't know what flavors yet. :).   Blue Moon same price.

I'm sure some good-hearted person thought that distinguishing between the better and less better players was a bad thing so changed the name to Futures. But if you think about it, that is particularly cruel.  The name Futures implies that a player will one day make the senior team, but there is no guarantee.  There may not be any future for a Futures player.

So what was once an accomplishment in itself, making the junior squad, has now been relegated to a mere waypoint on the way to a better destination. Shame of the ragged failure who fails to advance past the Futures team, mired in a mere waypoint.

So the potheads got their easy buzz in Colorado before the beer drinkers?  Now that’s funny.

That is funny :).
We have a city ordinance against selling pot (legally) not that it means much anyway  um anywhere for that matter.  :)
I'm told the legal stuff is quite expensive.

Can a pothead Bennie be labelled grass-fed? I'm asking for a friend who works in the industry.

In a fit of boredom last night I started watching "Making A Murderer Part 2" on Netflix.

Now I'm all creeped out. I hope all those people stay in the east side of the state.  :P

I imagine they'll stay until they run short of victims...

While on family vacation last week to Arizona we made a trip to the Grand Canyon. Impressive to say the least. I was wearing my 612 Football hoodie with Augsburg logo and a young man approached me and said did you play football at Augsburg? I said yes and he said he was Johnnie and played baseball at SJU. The MIAC was well represented at the Grand Canyon that day.

Full disclosure, I have been tempted to buy an Augsburg Wrestling hoodie but in a situation like that, I am not worthy.

We were in Mesa when Jamie Closs was found. The story was all over the news down there.

I was a young man of 18 in October 1976 when I saw that huge hole in the ground for the first time. I arrived the night before under cover of darkness, and was real glad I didn't wander off in the night, as I was sleeping less than a hundred yards from the rim. I woke at sunrise, drove the South rim getting pictures to prove I was there, and then bugging out before the park officially opened so I didn't have to buy a vehicle tag for the day.

I help coach my son's youth wrestling team.  The other night, I wore an SJU football shirt to practice.  One of the other dad/coaches asked if I played.  It turns out that he played fullback for Bethel and graduated a year ahead of me, so we likely had some onfield contact.  Small world.
