ATTENTION JOHNNIES EVERYWHERE

Tickets for 2019 Johnnie-Tommie Game at Allianz Field on Sale Friday

Tickets for Saint John's University's football game against the University of St. Thomas on Oct. 19 at Allianz Field in St. Paul go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1.

Do not delay. I bought my Johnnie/Tommie tickets last year for Clemens the moment they went online and they were fanstastoc. Get in early and get good seats.
I picked up a couple 1st row upper deck seats for $25 each including fees ($18 before fees).  Surprised to see they won't be selling beer.

So I see that they have $90 Club Level seats on the seat map, but they're not coming up for purchase on the portal. Do you think these have already been sold-out, or have they not yet been released?
I would guess sold out.

The Battle of the Burgs ended in a 15 to 15 tie but Wartburg won on tie breaker criteria. I was there as one of the 1,004 fans. Si Melby Hall was packed to the ceiling with a big time atmosphere, it was wild. This dual is a true rivalry even though Wartburg seems to have our number these days. We still have a chance to win the team National Championship.
Do they keep the running tally of points scored on the scoreboard anywhere?  I'd imagine that teams might change strategies if they knew they needed a certain number of points if it was looking like a tie was possible.  Had to be a little awkward for the people in attendance to not know who won the dual immediately after the final match.  Waiting for the judges scorecards like it was figure skating.

I've never seen that.  Several years ago, I was at a Gophers/Hawkeye dual that ended in a tie, with the Hawkeyes winning on criteria.  There was a bit of awkward time after wrestling wrapped up and before the cumulative scores were tallied.

The individual and team scores and time are displayed on the 2 large scoreboards in Si Melby but not the cumulative points. Exactly what DuffMan described is how it goes. I have seen duals decided by criteria 2 times now. It appears that the coaches and wrestlers know what they need to do either from the scorer or they keep score themselves, I don't know. Auggie Solomon Nielsen tried to get the pin at 184 to get bonus points to break the certain tie and the crowd knew why as it was the loudest point of the night and he was close to pinning the Wartburg wrestler. Nielsen won but with out bonus pts.  The dual came down to  the HWT match and if the Wartburg wrestler won by 2 or more Wartburg wins by criteria. I learned that last night after it was over.  Missing HWT Donny Longendyke.....

It is a first class performance so all the bases seem to be covered. Actually the raised stage was too much for me as several times wrestlers were near the edge and a few times they did come off the stage but were caught by the coaches waiting there.

Sounds like an exciting time, OA.  Aside from my disdain for both 'burgs, I'd love to take it in one of these years.

Tough loss for the Auggies. I was talking to a former Auggie wrestler. and he said that if the Heavyweight had only lost by 1 pt (lost by 5) the Auggies would have won the tie breaker - total points.

A tall order for him to keep it that close but yeah.

I'm going for New England today.  Mainly because Belichick doesn't carry on like fourth-grader when NE scores. I like how he treats the job like a job.

Also, because I think a NE victory will piss off the most people.

And, lastly, because I can't bear the thought of hearing how fantabulous LA is as the NFL media try to pump the tires on the only major market moved team with half a pulse.

I see that no one here really cares about the Super Bowl and I guess I can't blame anyone for that.  I just checked the stats in between meetings and I see that the Pats have been dominating the first quarter but have been unable to score.  Usually a bad sign.  One quick hit from the Rams and all that hard work from the Pats goes for naught.

I reckon if the Pats don't punch in their next possession then the Rams win.

Hey Oz, and the rest of the crew,

Yeah, I don't really have a horse in the race, as it were, but I have to say that I really thought we'd see more points in the first half. Something's gonna give, but I have no clear idea of what that might be. Whoever wins will win by two scores - you heard it here first.  :D

It looks like the Rams punter is keeping them in the game as he keeps pinning the Pats on their goal line.  But the Pats seem to drive the length of the field every time only to lose it on downs deep in LA territory.

Strange game.  The Rams are getting stomped but I think they are going to win it on a last minute fluke.  I may have to pay attention to the last quarter.

So I just checked the final score. Boring game?  It looks it. It looks like the Pats were all over Rams but kept coming up short whenever they got close and the Rams never got anything going.  The box score has the look of a Vikings v Lions mid-80’s snoozer rather than a Super Bowl. Should I bother watching a replay?

Actually the teams combined to score 100% when in the red zone - the Pats scored once from close, the Rams never got into the red zone!  So basically, neither team was EVER close.  If you enjoy watching great defense, with rare strikes of offense, watch the replay; otherwise, don't torture yourself.

The Lions maintained their PERFECT record in the Super Bowl - they have NEVER lost!  (That they have never even been close to getting into the Super Bowl is only brought up by really rude people. ;D)  At least this year they can correctly claim that they beat the Super Bowl champions in their winning season! ::)
