Just walked in the door from the MIAC Championship hockey game Augsburg vs SJU. Very exciting and very long.  Auggies win in the 4th OT for the 4th tournament win in a row. Congrats to the Johnnies, they played well.

That would have been a tense game.  The Johnnie goalie faced 88 shots, saving 86.  Here's some exclusive post-game locker room footage:

Tense is accurate, many of us in the stands felt the same as the goalie in that scene from Slap Shot.

Just wondering if all my friends in Minnesota are surviving the weather. OzJohnnie is still in summer but the rest of you? Hope you all have beer and snacks on hand. Right now, Alliance has snow from yesterday and a windchill around 7 degrees. We are in meteorlogical Spring, it just doesn't feel like it!

Was -9 this morning but based on the forecast I figure that's the coldest it will get until next January.

Thanks buddy. When does "real spring" start? I bet all 10,000 lakes up there are frozen. Hope you have ample "suds" on hand, just in case you get snowed in. In any case, Go Johnnies!  ::)

It was the first round of the pre-season this weekend and a heatwave was on.  North Melbourne played St Kilda in 38 degrees celsius or 100.4 Fahrenheit.

That's a good question.  Typically, daytime highs are in the 30s at this time of year.  There is a lot of snow and a lot of ice right now.  We'll just have to wait and see.  I have a feeling a lot of the spring sport seasons are going to be drastically altered this year.

We're supposed to get to the 30s for highs by Saturday and stay for a while.

Even more altered with the U.S. Bank Stadium being out of commission. Because of the Final Four, the building is being occupied by the NCAA already.

3 years ago thanks to artificial turf (and 60 degrees) Northwestern hosted a baseball game on February 27th.  If they can get 40 degrees in mid to late March they'll be able to clear the field and play.

5-8" of snow potentially coming this weekend -- at least that's the forecast for River Falls.

How many fewer baseball games has US Bank been hosting compared to the Metrodome?  Even in years without the final four it seems like it's being used far less.
