Retired Old Rat

My move to an apartment from my very high maintenance single family home is looking better every day. Underground heated parking and the parking lot is generally plowed with a path to the street by the time I'm ready to go.

Only bad part is street plowing. In Woodbury the city was all over it. In St. Paul not so much. All wheel drive helps.

Sweet tube chute. You must be the most popular dad in the neighborhood.
Thanks!  It's seen some good action this year.  With the right temps, we can get across the road!  :o

Here are a few more photos of the snow in our neighborhood this weekend.

Dang, that some beautiful snow.  It would be lovely to visit... ;)

(but you wouldn't want to live there :D)

Go Snow Blowers! ⛄️  ::)

Amen to that!  I've come to the conclusion that it's a necessity now.  I'm man enough to admit that my back can't handle shoveling anymore.

Here's the Duff Machine working OT after a recent storm.

That's just too much damned snow.  That drift is almost three feet deep - you can't shovel that.  If I still lived in Minnesota, I would buy a snowblower before I bought a lawnmower.  I could pay a neighbour kid to mow the lawn for three years before it cost me as much as a lawnmower, but it would only take two snowfalls before I've spent a snowblower's worth of cash paying someone to do it for me.  And a little longer grass as I waited for the kid to come never kept me from getting to work like a driveway full of snow would.

You've just gotta have generous neighbors with snowblowers, who watch out for their 'elderly' neighbors health!

I have no problem blowing out driveways for neighbors!  Alliance is too far, though.

One thing is for sure. It's a good time to invest in companies that manufacture mail boxes.

I have seen more wasted mail boxes knocked over by plows (or the weight of the snow being pushed) this year than ever before. It's carnage I tell you.

That sounds worse than having Ed Crankshaft driving the school bus.  :)

No doubt.  There is a house down the street from us that has their mailbox sitting on a folding metal chair with an orange flag attached to it.  It makes me laugh every time I drive past.  ;D

5-8" of snow potentially coming this weekend -- at least that's the forecast for River Falls.
I checked this morning, they are fine tuning the forecast......we may be lucky if we only get 5"-8". Hopefully the jet-stream moves south and Iowa gets it  ;D
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

You folks have really been getting it!
Here in western Colorado we've had much more snow than usual but we needed it especially in the mountains. Since we haven't had much for several years, the reservoirs are about empty (Blue Mesa is down more than 50 feet). In our valley we are expecting steady rain and about 50 degrees for the next couple of days. We survived Mardi Gras.  :)

How about a slight taste of Fall football here deep in winter?

Over at the highly competitive flag football league that takes place at the U, a team of recent UST grads took on a team of recent Minnesota grads.  13-0, Tommies.  Tommies are undefeated in this "Spring" session.

Now back to snow shoveling!
