Re: GOT analogy

Guessing UST is the Night King/Whitewalkers, and evil unstoppable force ready to consume Westeros (the MIAC).

SJU are pretty much the Wildings, engaging us right away, letting the rest of MIAC know there's an unstoppable monolith coming, not winning the battles as frequently as they once have, despite years of dominating the Whitewalkers. Then there's Night's Watch, a bunch of outcasts on the outskirts of Westeros prepared to defend the north and engage the enemy (Concordia), and while they have competed with honor, their wall of ice was no match for a re-animated zombie dragon. Then there's Winterfell (Bethel), honorable, fully prepared for the fight, despite being underfunded and out-manned, but will likely win their fair-share of battles. Gustavus is probably the Targareans, up-and-coming, but it probably won't last. Clearly, St. Olaf is King's Landing, once powerful, but now desperate, smugly waiting like they know-it-all and conspiring with other lesser kingdoms to sit back wait to see what happens to the people actually in the fight, content to change the rules when things get too close to home.

Augsburg is probably the Iron Islands, prepared to fight alongside whomever they feel gives them the best chance to win.

That might be the best analogy I'll ever see describing this situation. Had to laugh at the St. Olaf/Lannister parallel...although the thought of the STO President (Cersie Lannister) walking naked through the streets in shame after a big loss makes me gag.

A quick glance at the UST 2019 schedule shows Carleton & St. Olaf both as aways games for the Tommies. No matter how the vote comes down, I can see Glenn being a little salty and triple digit scores for both game are on the table. Discuss among yourselves.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Epic.

Just remember bench, the MIAC might be voting UST out, but there's no reason you need to leave too. You can always just become a Royal Cobber. Cheering against SJU and jumping back and forth from Bethel & Concordia depending on which team is hot at the moment. Obviously you'll be wearing a lot of navy and gold ;D

I have been told that it is apparently going to be a conference call, and that they won't even meet in person.  :o

Got some good pals in the Cobber athletic department, and since they boast the most number of North Dakotans there is some regional pride at play, but I'd probably only root for the school that didn't vote us out.

Can't look someone in the eye while you stab them in them in the back, Pat, that's Chickensh*t 101.  It's almost as if The Coalition of Losers isn't spearheaded by people with integrity.

Gotta save the conference the money that would need to go to cover security for this meeting. They can use the savings to start-up MIAC sponsored quidditch.

At this point I just hope Phil Esten and Julie Sullivan know what the hell they're doing, because right now, I'm not so confident there's a contingency plan, and I don't think St. Olaf leaked the story to Reusse.

Since I have never watched a minute of GoT I will go with The Godfather scene; and a look at a game this fall.

Here Sonny Corleone (Caruso) beats up Carlo (St. Olaf, Carleton) and Augsburg stands in the background watching.

Have any of you boating enthusiasts ever tried a SeaBob? We're heading to the Caribbean next month and they're available to rent at the beach near our villa. I'm trying to gauge whether these things are truly kid-friendly.
