Texas Ole

Don't know if anyone else saw the news, but Mike Eaves has left St. Olaf.  He got a job with an AHL team.  Is anyone else expecting St. Olaf to hire an assistant from the Tommies to coach the hockey team?

Just checking in periodically lately. Hace been exhausted by the UST ouster discussion. I douby we can change it. It is what it is - to coin a phrase.

I did see that bourbon was in the discussion. I would like to recommend one that I like that is favorably priced, and is every bit as good as Makers or Knob Creek, which have been my go to's for a while. Elijah Craig is in a category that, IMO, is good for both sipping, either neat, on the rocks or with a splash, as well as  with mixes, though I don't do that much. Give it a try.

Every year I declare my eligibility for the NBA Draft.

Tonight it's clearly Zion going first, then I'm in the mix in the next 9 picks.

Haven't heard if they want me in the green room. Must've lost my number.  ???

I also noted that you failed to win the Lady Byng again this year.  :)
Unfair, I voted for you.

All joking aside, are tensions running really high in Stearns County nowadays? I was surprised to find a piece on St. Cloud headlining the New York Times.

For perspective, read "That Hideous Strength" by C.S. Lewis. Pay particular attention to the role of the media in everyday life. Let's just say since my first reading back in college, I have become a skeptic of the highest nature from information put forth by large media outlets. If it seems to good to be true, it usually is. Your mileage may vary.

As someone who has had a handful of cases in Stearns County in the last few years I've overheard quite a few conversations that have made me raise an eyebrow or two. This is the first I've read of a concerted and organized effort to curb resettlement.

Seriously, The New York Times sent a reported & photographer to St. Cloud? Or was this reprinted with permission from the St. Cloud Times?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

The reporter Astead Herndon is based in New York, so I think it's the former.

I have African American friends and co-workers (Minnesota natives) who have said the St. Cloud area has been overtly racist and bigoted for decades.  They thought it was crazy that my son considered going to school at St. John's. Doesn't surprise me that they've turned their hate to immigrants, especially Muslims.

Unless I'm misreading your post, you might want to add a caveat that you're not claiming SJ2 is overtly racist. Associating SJ2 and racism on this board will cause a firestorm.

PS: I notice you've blocked me from sending you personal messages. Nice...

I can do that?  I can't find the button... ;)

EDIT:  Actually, I literally can't find the button.  All these years and I had no idea there was a block function.  I always thought the lack of blocking was a strength.

OMG 57. Watching the NHL Draft, your squad picks up Bowen Byram to go with all the young talent on the Avalanche.

All they need now are some decent jerseys.  ;)
