All joking aside, are tensions running really high in Stearns County nowadays? I was surprised to find a piece on St. Cloud headlining the New York Times.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/06/20/us/politics/minnesota-refugees-trump.html

As someone who has had a handful of cases in Stearns County in the last few years I've overheard quite a few conversations that have made me raise an eyebrow or two. This is the first I've read of a concerted and organized effort to curb resettlement.

I have African American friends and co-workers (Minnesota natives) who have said the St. Cloud area has been overtly racist and bigoted for decades.  They thought it was crazy that my son considered going to school at St. John's. Doesn't surprise me that they've turned their hate to immigrants, especially Muslims.

I had glossed over your comment because it started stupid and I figured it ended that way.  I wish I hadn't returned to it because I now fear you may have broken your arm after patting yourself on the back so hard.

The stupidest part is how you reveal your own predilection to bigotry by condemning an entire county for bigotry.   I have to admit you're significantly more sophisticated that those hick yokels in Sterns County. You know how to hate the right people.  I'll give you that much. Your sense of self-righteousness is well tuned to make yourself feel superior. That STO education sure wasn't wasted.

(Of course, any pre-teen can feel ignorantly superior without dropping all bucks. So there is that.)

Oz, get a grip. Everybody knows that when the New York Times sends in someone to get a story that it's totally objective. No pre conceived take is contemplated.
Right?  :P;D

BDB

We are on the razor's edge of political talk here, which is banned by the MIAC, as the conference has been non political as a rule.  ;D

Let's cool the jets.

Wild take a goal scoring LW from the National Development Team at the #12 pick. Matthew Boldy.

You can talk about politics in the MIAC, you just can't be excellent at it or win too many arguments in too dominant a fashion!  8-)

Oz, a young Aussie named Hannah Green just won the Women's PGA over at Hazeltine.

Should make the sports headlines down under.

Had fun following my cousin (in-law) around the course on Friday.  I saw a few fans with Australian flags draped around them, but they weren't drinking so they might not have been authentic Aussies.

The footy season continues apace, Hawthorn not doing too well.  Twins are up, Hawks are down.  It all balances for me.

But I saw this pic of James Cousins playing in the seconds (the minor league team for an AFL squad).  The seconds don't play on the beautifully manicured paddocks with perfect drainage and worn grass replaced by fresh sod every week.  The minors still play old school.  In the mud.

EDIT: That picture reminds me of my high school days playing in the slop.  Nothing felt better than that shower after a cold, miserable, muddy game with a little snow tossed in for good measure.

I just noticed you're +100 on karma, AO.  That was one hell of a hole you dug out of.  How deep was it?  -800?

It looks like Massey has set up his rating system for next year. (https://www.masseyratings.com/cf/ncaa-d3/ratings)

The top 10 with rating and conference are (ignoring the NESCAC):

1. UHMB, .69, ASW
2. UMU, .49, OAC
3. SJU, .48, MIAC
4. UWW, .45, WIAC
5. John Hopkins, .30, Centennial
6. Centre, .11, SAA
7. N Central, .10, Ill & Wisc
8. Bethel, .08, MIAC
9. UST, .06, MIAC
10. Wheaton, .06, Ill & Wisc

A couple observations, UMHB has a little break away but it's pretty tight at the top for first four teams.  And the MIAC will be a war.
