I hear ya on the training. Did the game farm thing a two weeks ago. For some reason my dog doesn't want to retrieve. He finds and points like a champion. He'll even run to the downed bird but he'll almost always lets one of the other dogs retrieve it or just stay by the bird until you walk over and pick it up. I have been working with him using a dummy pheasant in the backyard for the last two weeks hopefully it will make a difference. We'll see...

Yeah, I'm eager to get out with just him.  The neighbors that I sometimes go with have labs, and hunting a pointer with labs SUCKS.  I try to get him away from them, but it's less than ideal.  Wednesday should be good for us.  Jamtod, you want to weigh in?  :P

I guess if 4 out of 5 in football isn't enough (or 7 of 10)...

What have you done lately?  ::)

I guess I just thought the Johns would appreciate focusing on the past :-P

Anyway, back to UST's future hockey facilities and hostile takeover of St Kates.....

I will grant you that last year's football game was utter domination by the Johnnies. Still in pain thinking about how awful Perra looked and how Parks (HE WAS DOWN BEFORE THE FUMBLE) excellent game was wasted.

I can respect that and to demonstrate my respect, +k, which is probably the only time I've ever sent that your way. I won't let it happen again.

Hey Pat, how about a separate board for Tommie transition?  No offense to those interested parties--I understand that it's a hot topic with lots of speculation, but...

#Agree

What's that saying about the kettle and pot? The Johnnies complaining about dominating the board, waa, waa, waa!  :'(

It is rich, and an indicator of things to come. I foresee a lot of emails to local stations and papers over the lack of attention in the years to come.

Weather on Saturday shouldn't an extraordinary factor in John's - Bethel game. Most of the Erdmann passing game is built on quick strikes and exploiting man to man matchups. If the ball is coming out low and hot, the wind won't be as much of a factor

UST is well represented in the media. I was thinking more about the old cahoots that wore their Johnnie Red loud and proud to UST playoff games the last half decade, and openly cheered against the Tommies while their Johnnies sat at home. They often left disappointed and really looked like a miserable bunch. Probably will be more of the same in the post-Erdmann era.

Oh. THOSE guys. Those are the guys I shared some words with during the UST - UW-Oshkosh game a few years back. Still grateful that my wife was sitting in the row right behind me and distracted by conversation with a friend. She would probably not have been proud of me.
I've always wondered if they were frequent posters on this here board that I've come to know and love.

Can anyone provide insight on what happened with the Cobbers and the Toms?  I was not expecting a blowout.

1. A lot of people overreacted to the UWEC result. UST lost a weird game that they never should have lost. It's almost unheard of to dominate the stats like they did and lose.

2. Cobbers with a QB who can't throw are very beatable for top MIAC teams. They only threw 7 passes in a 51-0 pasting. Clearly Horan and Co. know they can't throw either. In non-con they can survive that easier because of how unique the offense is. In conference games, where they are a known quantity, teams like Bethel, UST, SJU, etc. know how to scheme against them. The offense is dangerous when they have a true dual threat QB. In other years, they get overmatched.

3. It was probably the worst week to catch UST. They were no doubt pissed, there season was on the line, and they were out for blood.

4. It does make me question UWW/UWL a little bit more, but not much.

And the final game in MIAC play this week has #4 St. John's hosting #6 Bethel. The weather looks to be rather miserable, which makes Bethel's "heavy package" look better on paper than the aerial attack of Erdmann and company.

Valid point, but at least the game is on turf, and I would rather have Jackson throwing the ball in miserable conditions that anyone else.

The gusting wind is far more concerning than the snow IMO. But yeah, SJU isn't gonna be afraid to throw it Saturday with Jackson under center. If it really is miserable (aka, no can throw the ball effectively) I think it favors Bethel. But Bethel is actually a very balanced offense this year. Roste is completing 70% of his passes and hasn't been sacked on the year.

Kragnes was 0-4 (with 0 yards passing, obviously) into the 4th quarter. The 3 completed passes were short throws against our 3rd and 4th string defenses.

Wasn't me.  I wouldn't spend a Saturday at O'Shag if the Johnnies were playing there even if you offered to pay for my ticket.
