SJU needs to figure out its kicking game. Maybe 2-point plays can be successfully run on extra points, but not having a kicking game on 4th and long from the back of the red zone really hurts against a good defense (which will be every team after the first round of playoffs).

I think at this point realistically making midrange to longer FG's (my definition of 'back of the redzone') is not an option for SJU. It's either figure out how to make PAT's and FG's from the 10 yd line and closer. Or commit to the 2 pt conversion theory.

And it's out there for every potential future opponent to know about.  SJU has 3rd and 7 from the opponent's 19 yard line?  Plan on defending two plays.  Maybe bring the house on 3rd down vs. "keeping things in front of you".   Could work to SJU's advantage as it'll force the defense to decide how aggressive to be on 3rd down.

I would just rather go with the attitude of "hey, once we are inside the 40-yard-line, you're going to have to play us four downs all the way to the end zone." It's kind of liberating for the offense to know that once they hit that magic line you get an extra opportunity to get the first down.
