And sorry stanbob i was harsh...

That retro trip back to seventh grade must have been fun for you though...

Maybe stanbob's dislike for UST is rooted in fear...

didn't watch the video, I have no dislike for UST(d), have had several friends and relation go there.  Have trouble with arrogant jerks who seem to be in love with themselves.

So much to respond to in the past few days.

I'll start with the Big Ten television.  I have used versions of it with PS Vue.  Between the alternate channels and the apps it was amazing how many games I was able to watch.  It was awesome especially since with the PS4 you could watch 3 games at one time.

I for one would like to congratulate UST on the expansion.  I don't see how it is bad for them to add to their graduate programs.  It will hurt a few schools that have competing programs, but for most schools it will help them.  St. Olaf and UST may compete for some students, but the schools have very different profiles.  The added graduate programs will benefit several schools.

There are some great kickers in high school.  The block helps high school kickers, but you also have to factor in the width of the goal post.  They are about 5 feet narrower.  Much of kicking is a mental exercise.  I watched several great kickers move from JH to the NFL.  Some of them just burn out.  The other factor is not many places value kicking.  Many teams don't have dedicated kicking coaches.  Few colleges spend a ton of time recruiting kickers.  Eventually though it comes down to execution, and that is much easier said than done.

You quote Phantom Menace?  Shameful.  Next you'll be dropping lines from Police Academy 6.

Whatever happened to the Tommie from Loyola academy? Our guys are in the second round of the playoffs.
I am surprised it took so long for CT to be benched-like TDT-a Pat favorite.

There are a few on the current roster, notably former QB turned defensive back Quinn Boyle. I think the Dowdle cousins went to Loyola also. Mark is on the coaching staff now.

So good news/bad news: SJU soccer is moving on in the play-offs, so 20 potential kickers for the football team are occupied for another week.  :-\
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

The Bennie soccer team is also playing so we can't sneak one of them on the roster. :D

Risking a -K epidemic by mentioning this, but it looks like SJU got a great coaching call by the 3rd generation Haws in that game. The Johnnies were substantially outshot through regulation and two OTs with their keeper standing out, according to the game reports.

Haws switched keepers for the penalty kicks and SJU prevailed to advance. Coach is grandson of Terry, who was a tremendous wrestling coach and, for a time, a football assistant.

Anyone remember the Bears parking lot tryouts for kicker?

Texas Tech used to do a promotion at halftime where a student could try to kick a field goal for a monetary prize. Mike Leach upset with his kicker ended up watching it one game. After the student made one he suggested the student turn down the prize in favor of a spot on the team.

Anybody noticed that the ads on this place have become substantially more cumbersome the last few days?
It's become almost unusable on mobile too, but maybe it's just me and I've been hacked or something.

What ads? Oh wait, I use Linux and can block them all, that's right.  ;D

I've noticed that they pop up in the middle of posts, as if the user had included it in their post.

Confused me for a moment as I thought there was some sort of humor attempting to be had...
