I've noticed that they pop up in the middle of posts, as if the user had included it in their post.

It's become almost unusable on mobile too, but maybe it's just me and I've been hacked or something.

What ads? Oh wait, I use Linux and can block them all, that's right.  ;D

Confused me for a moment as I thought there was some sort of humor attempting to be had...

I'm getting no ads, but I use the AdBlock add in.

Johnnie backers should take inspiration from all these ads on the board. At least something is popping up in the middle of their posts.  ;D

If the loss to the Cobbers wasn't painful enough, the regional rankings certainly are! It appears that our only hope to make a playoff run is to not get in a close game.

Wow-possibly no home game depending on how willing the ncaa is to pay for flights, which they said they were-sju to Redlands.

If Bethel makes the field, they might get one home game but I wouldn't be surprised if they have to travel to Chapman or Linfield for a first round game, because it's looking like the SCIAC is getting two teams in for sure. Maybe they put 2 of the 3 West coast teams together in the first round and send one of them to the Mid-West or South? This definitely makes for some fresh looking brackets.

For the sake of illustration, I put the current conference leaders in bold. Frankly, I'm OK with the Johnnies being road warriors. That's the price they pay for not showing up against a motivated Concordia team.

West Region
1. UW-Whitewater 7-0 (WIAC)
2. Wartburg 8-0 (ARC)
3. Chapman 7-0 (SCIAC)
4. Redlands 7-1
5. Saint John's 7-1(MIAC)
6. Bethel 7-1
7. Linfield 6-1 (NWC)
8. Central 7-1
9. UW-Oshkosh 6-2
10. Martin Luther 7-1 UMAC

So how does that work? How does me seeing an ad generate more revenue for you or conversely how does me blocking ads reduce your revenue? I always thought that the companies placing the ads payed you regardless whether people blocked the ads or not.

Yeah, they dug this hole, but it likely means that I won't get to any playoff games. :(
I guess we'll see how the next 2 weeks play out.

From the D3Football story..."Gustavus Adolphus (6-2, .542 SOS, head-to-head 50-19 win vs. Martin Luther) is a better candidate for that No. 10 spot, for sure."

I'm not a region rankings expert but I imagine GAC winning out and sneaking into to the top 10, and same for Bethel, would help SJU's chances of jumping up as we'd have 3 MIAC teams ranked in the top 10?

I would hope so. The way I understand the hypothetical, the Johnnies would be the only school in the West Region with two victories against regionally ranked opponents, right?

As someone who places ads...we don't pay if an ad doesn't appear. Media placement contracts set forward an agreed upon number of ads to be delivered, i.e. impressions, at a certain cost. So anytime an ad doesn't appear because of an ad blocker Pat and team aren't receiving any ad revenue and that is revenue they can't get back. But they'll need to continue to serve enough of the advertiser's ads to fulfill the contract.

I would advise anyone to not use ad blockers for any site that doesn't charge you to use their content. If ad supported sites go away you'll be left with only paid subscription sites like The Athletic, but you'll have to pay a monthly subscriber fee in order to access the site.

I have no plans to circumvent them on desktop, but can you confirm that something changed recently with the ad setup? If this place continues to be unusable on mobile, I guess I'll just have to be productive on the bus or find a way to get rid of the really obtrusive full-page blocking ones.

Publishers and website owners do not get paid for ads that do not display. And yes, there are some new creatives out there that don't look super great here, so I'll see what we can do about them.
