I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet SJU Senior OT Ben Bartch has been invited to play in the Senior Bowl.

In honor of that tremendous achievement, let's look at Ben through the years at SJU:

If the image doesn't show up for you, go to Ben's profile at https://gojohnnies.com/sports/football/roster/ben-bartch/12561 and click on the "Historical" tab at the bottom of the page.

That's exciting for Ben & SJU! Any word on Erdmann's propects for the next level? I realize scouts from all 32 NFL teams have been to campus, but is it likely that he'll receive a combine invite? Hoping he, Ben, & the rest of the team go on a tear the rest of the season! Maybe the loss to the Cobbers will end up being a blessing in disguise. Time will tell!

I for one have grown tired hearing about us having a potential NFL QB and left tackle. Also on the pregame show Chris Harris talked about playing pro! Seriously we've got a decent D3 team w/ some really good players...nothing more.

I'm with Faunch here.  Great, but you don't play D3 football to get to the NFL.  Nothing but a distraction at this point.

I like the Johnnies chances on the road in warm weather (Chapman or Redlands). They might relish the So Cal weather.

To be perfectly honest, in this particular year, I like the Johnnies' chances in Belton.  Nothing better for the rhythm of a passing attack than sweet weather.

Ooooh,  very risky Duff. Always scary to be with Faunch!  :o

If it's becoming a distraction that has any impact on the football field, doesn't that fall back on coaching? Do you think that that's really an issue on gameday or preparation leading up to it?

I would very much rather have NFL prospects on my team than not have NFL prospects on my team.

If Duff starts calling for heads to roll on the coaching staff, we'll know that things have slipped too far.

I think having NFL scouts hanging around at practices can definitely have an impact.

FWIW, there's a kicker on the SJU roster without a picture next to his name....

With 64% of PAT made & 0 % of FG made I'd be open to a kid from the chess club if he can kick a football through the uprights.....
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

At first I got excited, especially because his name is Spanish and I thought he may be a round ball king, but there is another guy on the roster with no photos.   Our kicker, though, has no bio and everyone else does as far as I can tell.

I also tried the Internet Wayback Machine to see if it was a recent addition but unfortunately that page isn't archived.  It's not archived in the Google cache either.  Additionally, the content editor for the site doesn't put any editorial comments tracking changes in the page so that came up empty as well.

I reckon he's been there for a while and we didn't notice.  And he's so for down the roster that photo never got taken or maybe he stopped training after some point and the roster page hasn't been updated.   Most likely we're onto the 2-pt game plan.  Still, I hold out hope for the miracle "kick a touchdown" solution.

EDIT:  The reference is to Garo Yepremian who, incidentally, would fit in quite well at the moment.
