The rankings make little sense as of now. Why make sense later?

Retired Old Rat

Ranking really doesn't matter. We're in and we're going to have a difficult road.

I have one extra ticket for the Gopher game at Kinnick tomorrow. Section 107, Row 22....30 yd line gopher bench side...I haven't sold tix through any of the apps before...suggestions or advice??...Row The Boat 🚣‍♀️!

My condolences for having to endure the dump that is called Kinnick. Tailgating is decent, but I wouldn't recommend the Rocky Mountain Oysters that tend to be popular in that neck of the woods.
You are mistaken my friend but in Iowa you get prairie oysters. Here in western Colorado we have authentic Rocky Mountain Oysters which are fabulous. I will admit, however, that only 8 of the last dozen I had worked.  :D

Well then, I ate three "prairie oysters", then puked up those three oysters in the parking lot by the river to the east of the dump that is Kinnick. Neither the dump nor the oysters are for me.

Hence, your moniker?  ;D

My Iowa Cousins been asking me am I going for Nate in the game or Minnesota.

Not Nate I tell them. He and his family are great people but can't go for him in this game. RTB

Hey gang, back from deer hunting - bagged an 8 pointer @250 or so dressed, will get it weighed at the processor's place.

I have over 6 pages to catch up on, so some of what follows may have already been discussed.

MIAC games for the final week of the regular season, starting at the bottom and working our way up. Both Hamline and Augsburg are 1 - 8 overall, and 0 - 7 in conference play. Tomorrow they play for the Hammer. I'm inclined to favor the Pipers, but acknowledge that anything could happen in this game.

The next game on our menu is Carleton hosting Concordia. With the Knights hosting, it might be a closer game than if the Cobbers were hosting, but Concordia should still win this game, wherever it were played.

St. Olaf travels a short jaunt over to St. Peter, MN to take on the Gusties. I'm suspecting that Gustavus will go out with a win and solidify themselves into 4th in the conference because of the head to head win over the Cobbers.

So the MIAC game of the week is Bethel traveling down Snelling to take on the Tommies. This will be the game for second and third places in the conference, depending on who wins and who loses. As most are aware of, if BU loses, they would also join the Tommies, in that they both would be out of Pool C consideration. As a Royal fan with rose colored glasses, I think they will win.

Finally, at the top of the stack are the Johnnies who are hosting the final non-conference game of the season. Erdmann and corps will dispatch the Fightin' Engineers pretty quickly resulting in a lot of kids getting a shot to play while the ones rest a bit before play offs.

I stopped reading after "8 pointer @250 or so dressed". That's a big ol' buck. Impressive. Congrats. Rifle or slug? Woods or cropland?

It's been 20 years since the Goophers beat the Hawkeyes at Kinnick! LAST MILLENNIUM! They can resume their historic season AFTER the boat they're rowing springs a leak in Iowa City!

Congratulations to all the Senior student athletes, their parents, and family for whom today represents their last regular season football game ever. Unlike most other sports football is one that you don't play recreationally after your competitive playing days are over - it's just too hard on your body. Today represents the final chapter of a journey that started as far back as 3rd grade, a whole lifetime of having fall days consumed with a sport that you were passionate about and devoted to. To those for whom today represents their penultimate game, play it with passion and enjoy it for your next loss will be your final game.  I expect to see a number of very large, tough men cry at the conclusion of today's game as they realize that their journey is finally over.  Stay safe and take care.

Nice Buck Art!

Game day is here. Lots on the line today for the Royals. This is my favorite weekend of the season since there's so much national drama.

Go Bethel ... and UWW Coe Loras Ithaca SNC SJU, etc. I think the Coe upset is Bethel's best bet, if they beat the Toms.
