Anyone from SJU....last year you had freshman DB Marquez Prior on your roster he is local kid from Coachella Valley Rancho Mirage HS. He wasn't on roster this year did he leave SJU or just not playing anymore ?

Thanks

Have not heard any news about him.

Since I take a winter respite in the Palm Desert or San Diego area every year, I am always interested in players from that area. SJU has had quite a few in the recent years. I read a story about Marquez Prior some time ago, but it was in your local area press. As I recall, he had talent that could be desirable at level(s) higher than D III. I would guess your local press would be the place to research.

I'm calling for a Double Monkey StompTM.  Phone it in.

Well, with my tail between my legs, I will admit that I was way off with my hunch about Aurora.  They were a fast, well-coached team, and their QB is phenomenal.  He was off with his long ball, but everything else he did was amazing.  Very impressed.  Their o and d lines were very good, too.   My hat's off to Aurora!  They would have fared very well in the MIAC this season.

I don't think we'll see a more dangerous QB.  Fulford, maybe, but that would be a long shot, right now.

Thankfully, the Johnnie offense is so very potent and the defense was able get a few critical stops.  And how about Kummer?  6-for-6 on PATs and 1-for-1 on FGs.  After the Concordia game, whoda thunk it?

This game reminded me a lot of the 2002 Redlands game (minus the turnovers).  Thankfully, Johnnie Magic set in, and we're moving on!

I heard that he had some personal issues and headed back to California.  It's too bad because he would have been in line for a position this year.  I hope he's doing well.

Just finished listening to this morning's D3 podcast and would like to throw out a thought to be considered and proposed. It has to do with after season bowl games between the remaining top teams that did not get into the playoffs being started here in the mid-west. I would propose that three conferences be in this rendition, the ARC, the MIAC and the WIAC. The top two teams from each conference are in the pool. The better team from the conference gets the home game, and the next place team in the conference gets the road game to one of the other conferences. Then create a standing rotation for the 3 games assigning which conferences play the other two every year. An iteration of that would be to secure a long term commitment from a domed stadium where all three games would be played back to back to back.

Year one looks like this:

A1 plays M2, M1 plays W2, and W1 plays A2.

Year two:

A1 plays W2, M1 plays A2, and W1 plays M2.

Then alternate years after that. Could call it the WAM Bowl?

Fred Jackson played for Coe in 2002 when Duffman played.

Yep.  It was soooo cold, and it was a blowout by us.  I recall having a friend go buy me a hot chocolate after the starters got pulled.  :D

Our season openers the next two years are going to be tough battles.

Ugh, I am not looking forward to opening the season against Zimbleman with 2 next DBs and some new LBs.

Especially considering he inherited most of this squad. Will be interesting to see what he does with his own recruits. I'm expecting his "House of Speed" would be a nice advantage.

I can tell you Cam Moore, a WR for Aurora who transferred from North Central after starting all year as a freshman, didn't play all year due to an injury he's as good or better than every AU WR and he will be back next year. They will be an issue on offense the next couple years

I done a lot of internet checking, maybe I'm overlooking something. Who did the Tommies play in the first round of the playoffs?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

SJU13

Should be a solid test for two teams graduating important talent after this season. If last weekend was an indicator - it shouldn't lack for entertainment value.

After watching a bit of both the Chapman/LaVerne  and the Chapman/Linfield games, I'm feeling pretty good about our chances. They seem to be less consistent on offense than Aurora, though with their 2 QB system, that's to be expected, I guess. Their D looks vulnerable, but they do seem to be able to put pressure on the QB. It will be up to the Johnnie O Line to give Erdmann time to pick out a receiver. Maybe the 2018 Tommie strategy would work if they have problems. The Panthers are run first, and the Johnnie LB's will need to be quick and tackle much better than last game. Anyhow, I look to a 35 - 24 Johnnie win.

I feel good about this SJU team playing in some warm weather (not that Saturday was bad).

Johnnie fans

I lived in California for 16 years (San Francisco area).  I dated a lady who went to Chapman. I actually went there once (it was closed).
What's the point of all this? Nothing whatsoever. I just wanted to post it.
I really want to wish The Johnnies the very best on Saturday!
Dare I say it? I 'm going to. They haven't seen a team like St. John's or a QB like Erdmann.
Keep it going. Go Johnnies!  ;D
