I think you don't know good ol' Duff as well as you think you do MUC. Although (perhaps much to his chagrin) he is one of the more reasonable and gentle Johnnies.

YOU TAKE THAT BACK!!!

Consider it less of a compliment to you and more of an indictment on the rest of your people. That better?

Pretty sure I know who you are talking about but I muted the empty suit at least a year ago...

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Jackson Erdmann is a finalist for the Gagliardi.

Can't wait to hear complaints from Mount Union (even though they didn't have a candidate).

HEY NOW!  We are going to let you fellas have all the fun you want this year with this semi-final talk, Gagliardi talk and such.  But if you think for one minute this is permanent....YOU ARE MISTAKEN!  Next year it's back to Mount making the Stagg and everyone else is playing for 2nd or whatever place.   ;D 8-)

Quick Hits are out.  :)

Damnit!  There's a jinx!!!

Welp, I guess we can't claim the powers that be at D3football.com hate the Johnnies anymore (not that I ever truly believed that they did in the first place). I guess the only guy that we can call a skeptic now is Logan Hansen--and to be fair to Logan, it's not him, but that pesky statistical model inside that pesky computer of his that refuses to ignore the Concordia game (which I get).

As much as I like seeing the Johnnies getting recognized, this makes me nervous.

It's going to be a great battle on Saturday. I can't wait to be that guy in the audience at my 3 year old daughter's dance recital with the earbuds in listening to the end of the game. (Kickoff at 2 p.m. CT/recital at 3:30 p.m.)
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

Boys of Fall

Looks like it will be about 30 and overcast, but no precipitation in the afternoon.    Maybe a little more conducive for a ground-and-pound style of play, but shouldn't impact the game too much.

Above 20 and very little wind or rain will be just fine for Erdmann to throw all over the place.

The concern isn't about the players, they're young and will be moving around, I'm concerned about the fans sitting on the metal bleachers.

Ha.

Well, those Cali, Arizona and Florida boys playing in this chilly weather had better channel the ancestors of their viking brethren.  It's not cold until it gets below 15.  30 is practically tanning weather.

If the Cobs don't beat the Johnnies earlier this year, do the Johnnies make significant improvements to their kicking game? Or would kicking still be their kryptonite?

I reckon you're right. I think the circumstances of that loss made all the difference.

I also reckon we'll have some damned good freshman kickers trying out for the squad next year.
