Regarding the SF win over GB, I wasn't able to watch the game (having to earn money - what BS) but have a question for someone who may have.  What was up with SF running for 290 yards?  They only had 69 yards passing.  Did GB have no safeties?  Could they not crowd the box a little?

You see a statline like that in college ball but when's the last time a pro game had 4x run over the pass?  SF only made 8 pass attempts.  8 in the whole damned game.  A WR receiver was only targeted on four passes in total in the entire game.

I may need to watch a replay tonight just to see what sort of crack the GB coaches were smoking and to look and see if they were smoking it while the game was on or if they got all their hits before the opening kickoff.

From my watching, it was a "if it works, don't fix it" situation. The Niners had success running, due to excellent blocking, and GB was never able to stop them. I think Kittle wasn't targeted until late in the third(?). I really didn't much notice that they weren't passing until a friend pointed it out after the game.

I remember Woody Hayes saying 3 things can happen when you pass and two of them are bad.  So, a running game that is working doesn't call for much of a passing game.  As a 49er fan, I bet it will be a different story against KC.
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

I love this SB matchup. 49ers and their D front and physical style. Chiefs and their ridiculous offensive team speed and an underrated D. Should be some great chess matches.

MIAC MAN- Remember last year when your nephew got married on the Johnnie-Tommie game? Well, today we received a "save the date" from one of our nieces......November 7,2020. Not only is the the last Johnnie-Tommie football game but, it's also deer hunting opener  :'(
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I hope they haven't booked a big venue. There will be a lot of empty seats.

OMG (Gosh)! The kicker was my nephew was a Johnnie football player! Please don't tell me she is a Bennie and/or he is a Johnnie? The deer opener is a deal breaker for me. Hopefully it's not your Goddaughter or something like that.

I guess the people over on Cretin Ave are fairly confident the NCAA will give them the green light.

Not my Goddaughter and she's a proud MN State Mankato grad. He's not a Johnnie (or a deer hunter). 3 other uncles & 6 cousins who are hard core deer hunters I'm pretty sure will not attend. It's in Alexandria, so maybe (fingers crossed) is a late afternoon event.  :-\

Just attend the reception and get them a nice gift.

Pretty sure it's not a "scholarship" offer. However, I do believe they are quite confident they'll be D1 in 2021 (Probably Pioneer league for football)

While this is a student-athlete announcing the "offer," something like this is usually based on fact. On the one hand, it could be as simple and innocent as:
UST: "Hey, come play for us."
Kid: "Cool. I will do that."
UST: "That's awesome. Oh, by the way, we expect we will be going D1 while you are a student."
Kid: *thinks to self "Hell yeah! I just got a D1 offer!" *opens up smart phone and tweets he "got a D1 offer"*

On the other hand if UST is recruiting kids and saying "we want you to come play, and oh by the way we are going D1 in a few years, and once we do you will be getting an athletic scholarship for your sophomore, junior, and senior seasons," I think that is cause for concern because UST has not officially departed D3 and are still subject to the D3 rule not using athletic scholarships as inducement for recruiting.

Although, "offer" does not equal "scholarship."
