A friend sent me a list of draft rankings from NFLdraftcountdown (google if you care). Bartch is listed as #9 on the list of OG's. Erdmann is #54 on the QB list (Fulford #56 BTW) I see that Bartch is playing LT, which even speaks better.

I'm hoping to break the top 1000 at WR this year....ok maybe my time has passed.

Here's an off topic question. When you zoom in moderately on the Twin Cities using Google Maps, Minneapolis and St. Paul are highlighted; at the next level down in magnification, Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Minnetonka are highlighted; then Minneapolis, St. Paul, Minnetonka, and Bloomington are highlighted at next level down in magnification. I always thought of Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Bloomington as forming the "Tri-Metro Area." What makes Minnetonka so special (at least according to Google Maps)?

Thanx for sharing Oz. This was kind of revealing - Of course I knew there was "money in the 'burbs", but this lays it out in black and white. I just so happen to live in a older Northern suburb, just outside the loop, and our combined income is higher than the average listed. I would never have guessed that, looking at some of the homes in my neighborhood. Obviously, we most have a home on the "good side of the tracks", or Central Avenue, take your pick.

I'm well below the per capita income for the suburb I live in, once my SAH wife and 4 children are taken into account.

I have a hard time spending all my money.  Cocaine and women use a lot of it and I pretty much waste the rest.

It's true the focus has been on St. Scholastica in talks around here but Northwestern has improved a bunch of outdoor facilities in the past five years and would be a decent add from that perspective. Plus, they have won NCAA postseason games in men's basketball and in volleyball (perhaps others, but those come to mind).

Does either Northwestern or St. Scholastica bring much more to the table than Macalester does?

Not academically, but they would bring a non-intramural level commitment to athletics.

Another great take from Senior Bowl. I had to check this guy out again and he does not disappoint! Skip to about 15:50.

Bartch gets a shoutout, he says, for stepping up after playing against future "lawyers, doctors and s- - - . . . . mortgage loan processors" and now  "runs into a gang of killers, murders and real football players."

The Eagles' review of the workouts talks about Bartch and almost give him top lineman of the practice.  Say he could have had it but went with others.  About the 7:10 mark.

And in this one at 11:50 they discuss Bartch.  They say he's the best tackle this week.  And at 26:20 they discuss Bartch again in detail and label him the biggest surprise of the week.  They say how he plays tomorrow and then in the combine will be huge as they are skeptical that he's really got the experience needed coming from D3.

Are you posting from Melbourne Park this week?   ;)

No, not this year.  It's been a few years since I went to the tennis.  #'s 2 & 3 are going with their friends this weekend (or at least they were talking about it earlier this week; I should really pay more attention).

Went to the Johnnie wrestling match last night with my dad and a few friends.  Good to chat with Fr. Don and some of my dad's teammates from the early 70s.

I bumped into JW Windsor after the match and had a nice chat with him.  Seems like a great young man.  Bummer we don't have him another year!

I don't think MIAC wants to add any school.  St. Scholastica only makes sense if you need to add a men's hockey team.  That doesn't mean St. Scholastica isn't the best fit for the MIAC if adding another school, but I just don't see it happening in the current MIAC.  I don't see Northwestern as a MIAC school.  I think the lack of hockey doesn't help Northwestern.  Overall the MIAC is probably a little bigger than I think most schools would like right now.

There are a few conference adjustments that make sense.  The biggest is for Macalester to bring football back to the MIAC.  That solves the football problem in regards to having a 8 game conference schedule.  I know quality of football will be questioned.  Women's sports is the other issue.  Even with the Tommies leaving it is still a 12 team conference for women's sports.  I think that is just too big for a Division 3 conference.  I think St. Catherine would have to leave to make adding any other school a viable option, and even then I would wonder if adding to the MIAC makes sense.  I think St. Catherine only leaves if it merges with St. Thomas.

I have seen plenty of his Senior Bowl practice highlights on twitter and he does look good against P5 competition. I hope he keeps it up and is drafted in the upper rounds.

This reminds me of the early stages of the Devean George story.

A short Bartch interview.  He's been to the universal school of sports media interviews.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nnXPmpZIHk

And here are first half highlights.  I don't see Bartch with a single rep, unfortunately.  But the three players that South have in at LT give up four sacks and three pressure hits, one of which gives up a floating int.  So it looks like they need him in there.  Maybe the second half.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4DDs0ORQ64

Yeah, here are highlights of the whole game and I don't see Bartch on a single snap.  Three different left tackles were in for North and all were getting beaten badly so you would think Bartch should get a shot. Maybe he picked up an injury in the last practice?

UPDATE: Yup.  He was injured in practice on Thursday so didn't play.  Bummer.  He was needed and could have really shined.  Maybe he did enough in practice to get picked.
