A short Bartch interview.  He's been to the universal school of sports media interviews.

And here are first half highlights.  I don't see Bartch with a single rep, unfortunately.  But the three players that South have in at LT give up four sacks and three pressure hits, one of which gives up a floating int.  So it looks like they need him in there.  Maybe the second half.

Yeah, here are highlights of the whole game and I don't see Bartch on a single snap.  Three different left tackles were in for North and all were getting beaten badly so you would think Bartch should get a shot. Maybe he picked up an injury in the last practice?

UPDATE: Yup.  He was injured in practice on Thursday so didn't play.  Bummer.  He was needed and could have really shined.  Maybe he did enough in practice to get picked.

Don't sweat it Oz. I don't fancy myself a Senior Bowl expert, but from what I know 90% of the scouting for the draft occurs in the week of practice and workouts leading up to the Senior Bowl game. The game is a mini-exhibition and many of the NFL scouts float away in their Gulfstream's well before kickoff. Based on the updates from the week it sounds like Bartsch established himself well.

Well, all three left tackles who played for the north in that game were getting smoked consistently by straight rush. No stunts and no blitz. So they have pretty much crossed their names off the list. Bartch is the only one who could get picked, I reckon.

The UST/STC merger is inevitable but, it's probably 5-10 years out.

From one of my better sources, it sounds like there wasn't a ton of specifics established for the path for UST to D1, but it was made very clear that the NCAA wants this move to happen and will establish a path based specifically on UST's profile.

From The Athletic, article highlighting players who made money at the Senior Bowl:

Ben Bartch, OT, St. John's (Minn.) (6-6, 308)

It is impossible to understate the uptick in competition from Division III to the competition in Mobile this week. But Bartch not only looked like he belonged, but he was also arguably the highest-performing offensive tackle throughout the week. The former tight end is very light on his feet and was rarely stressed by edge speed. That athleticism was expected, but I was eager to see how he would hold up from a power perspective, and he exceeded expectations with his upper-body and hand strength. A Day 3 pick coming into the week, Bartch will now receive top-100 consideration from NFL teams.

I believe the ankle was the issue. During the Wheaton game, he limped off pretty gimpily(?) They taped it up heavily and he returned and then played well in UWW game. But he may still have not been 100%.

Have to agree with you DuffMan, he looks more ripped now as a senior Gopher than he did his first year at Augsburg and even his first year at the U of M. As you know, he has done well this year including that exciting OT win the other night and last night he hung on to win against Ohio State. To me, at Augsburg, he always had the D1 quickness but in the past he could have been stronger and more lean? What do I know, right?! He made it to D3 Nationals his first year at Augsburg and took 3rd. I thought he would win that year but the top of D3 is tough.  Looks like he made the right move going to the Gophers because he really looks good this year.

Agreed.  He looks strong this year, the broadcasters even mentioned that last night.  His win vs. Wisconsin was really impressive.  I know he struggled a bit last year (injury, I think), but he'll definitely be a podium contender come March.

According to an article on the website "fansided," Bartch was one of two tackles named to the  "All Senior Bowl Team."

Seeing multiple offensive tackles going in the first round predictions, all D-1, understand that a d-3 o lineman wont merit first round consideration, it makes you scratch your head.  Plus I had to post because the MIAC suddenly wasn't the most recent post...

It will be interesting to see where he lands.  It makes sense that he's not a super high prospect, in that if a GM were to take him very high in the draft, and he was a bust, that GM would be fired, or at the very least would be in a tough spot, because people would say "what did you expect when you drafted a D3 player?".  On the other hand, if you draft a blue chip type of a guy, who ends up not being good, it could likely be more easily justified.

Of course the potential to look like a genius is there too, but the risk / reward factor comes into play.

Many, if not all, of the mock drafts were compiled prior to the Senior Bowl. I believe Marpet was a 3rd rounder. I wouldn't expect any higher for Bartch. That being said, getting drafted is a tribute to his hard work and good coaching
