So let me get this straight. The Reverend MIAC, Phd. changed his handle to Mr. MIAC and then deleted his account?

What was the point of the name change? Call me MUC57'd.  ???

I think that's because Mr. MIAC was his login name and he later changed his handle to the Rev one. When he deleted his account, it reverted all the modifications, would be my guess.

Remind me never to delete my account.  My login name could get me arrested in 18 states.

Oz

Sounds like it's as crazy Down Under as it is here. These 84 year old eyes have witnessed a plethora of happenings - WWll, The Korean War, the Vietnam War, several recessions, infectious outbreaks (Sars and Mers) and who knows what else!
But this is something else. I don't know about all of you, but I am frightened and confused. I am following the protocols that have been established - avoiding crowded places, staying 6 feet from people, washing hands and using hand sanitizer. That's about all we can do.
I can't wait until we can talk about the good stuff, you know, SJ2 vs U$T, etc.
That time will come - not fast enough though!
So Oz, my friend, stay well down there in the land of kangaroos, wombats, koalas and other exotic animals.

(I apologize if I have rambleled and not made much sense. Hey, I've been doing that for years (84) and I'm good at it. This whole thing is driving me crazy.)

Everyone stay safe and stay well! 😷 🍺

Do your best not to be scared, mate, and keep checking in here (it's not like we have anywhere else to go).  You've already put one pneumonia behind you this year so who cares about another?  My thoughts are follow the advice, wrap yourself in bubblewrap and ride the storm until a vaccine arrives.  With the number of research and medical types looking at this (and the greenbacks to be made) I have no doubt that a vaccine will be created in record time.

In the meantime, enjoy The Sweet Season.  It covers the 2000 season and Mount plays the villain who makes it bitter sweet.

(I looked for an audio version and didn't find it so I'm afraid you'll need to call on your peepers, unless someone else knows of an audio version?)

Thanks Oz, old friend. Your words of wisdom and inspiration will propel me from under the clouds of doom and despair into the sunshine of hope and promise for the future!
Damn, I love it when I say stuff like that. Think I'll go have another cold something or other.
Go everybody, especially health care professionals. 🍺 🇦🇺 🇺🇸

Where can I find the movie? I only saw an ad for the book. Please help, I went to Mount Union.  ???

jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezus.

Six months in jail, $11,000 fine for leaving home without a 'reasonable excuse'

QuoteAnyone in New South Wales [the state where Sydney is located] who leaves their house without a "reasonable excuse" could spend up to six months in prison and face an $11,000 fine under an emergency ministerial directive gazetted overnight.

The public health order, which enacts Sunday's recommendations of the national cabinet, gives police sweeping power to enforce the latest round of restrictions designed to limit the spread of coronavirus in Australia.

There are 18 dead and 4,200 infected in the entire country.

I hate to be "that guy", well, not really but I digress, The Sweet Season is about the 1999 season, Duffman's Freshman year. The epilogue covers the 2000 Stagg Bowl.   8-)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Sorry no movie. I couldn't find an audio version either. Just finished the Introduction again and it alone was worth the price of admission. The author's humor had me laughing which is welcome during the current crisis.

I've gotta think that is just an over-the-top way to try to get people's attention.  If anyone is actually given that sentence (for anything short of overt terrorism - e.g., deliberately spitting on food in a grocery store, or the like), THEN tar-and-feathering of the minister would be in order.

I couldn't be bothered to walk over to my shelf and double check.  Dammit.  I'm not doing well as a Johnnie these last couple weeks.

I just read that a pastor in Tampa was arrested for holding services. Not that I endorse or criticize his actions, but I ask the attorneys here to weigh in on the Constitutional issues with that action
