Thanks for trying to make me laugh, but that just made me cry! :(

Just watched the first "salty" of the season arrive in the Twin Ports of Duluth/Superior on my phone from my couch.

What a world.

Well, a check in. How's everyone going living like hermits?

This is one time when being an introvert is a great advantage.  We're doing fine.  The Mrs. always works from home, but now she has the kids and I home, too.  My productivity is limited some by navigating "distance learning" with the kids and some because I am a scientist and there are only so many things I can do from home.  I do have to go in tomorrow and Friday for a while to set up some experiments.
Thankfully, the weather is improving and we're getting to spend time outside.  We've done some hikes and been fishing a few times.  All in all, it could be worse, I guess.
I did give up alcohol for Lent.  It's been a rough go with the pandemic stress and the...enjoyment of spending nearly 24/7 with immediate family and no one else, but it's nearly over and I'm looking forward to some Easter beers/cocktails!  ;D

A tradition unrivaled...

True.  Mrs Oz has a bottle of champagne in the fridge which we're going to crack open the day that school is back on site.  We're even sharing it with the kids and I think they'll be happy to celebrate themselves, much to their own surprise.  I'm sure they'll hate the taste but it will be the best tasting awful drink they'll ever have.

On a side note, one of the few lawful reasons you can leave your house without challenge is to exercise.  The streets are swollen every afternoon with people in athletic gear running, walking, cathestenicking (?).  If this was a dastardly plan to get the population fitness focussed then it's working a charm.

I'm bouncing off the walls.  I'm fortunate to be working from home but my mental stability is taking a battering.  I'm quickly approaching this point.

I'm thinking that the collective work from home productivity is taking a dive and soon will fall off a cliff.

I'm trying to be a high school special education teacher from home. Most of the students I work with are not very engaged when they are actually in school...the first three days online haven't proved much better. I get up by 7 am, shower and dress and get to "work" by 8am. The den my office....I've created Mega-desk (Dwight Shrute). I only really teach one class and student engagement has been limited. I try to do various "paperwork" tasks and communications but by 11/12 I am struggling everyday...so hard to focus.
Yesterday enjoyed a 60+ degree day in the Puerto BackYarda w/ a few pints. Today went for a short bike yard and passed and waved to Coach Caruso. Was glad i was wearing my red SJU football 1/4 zip!!
Best part of day is cooking dinner...it's a great distraction...been eating and drinking too much...gonna be over 200 by June.

In the continuing Scenes series (duffman, you should post a fishing pic), Mrs Oz and #2 took the dog for a walk down at the beach today.  You know that even the kids are getting stir crazy when they are willing to take the dog on an 8am beach walk.  But it's the first beautiful day in almost a week.  It's been wet, windy and blowing for the last four or five days so they took the opportunity to get down on the beach before it got crowded with people looking for air.

The nice thing to see (unusual to call this nice) is that there are two container ships at anchor on the horizon waiting to enter port and offload whatever they have been shipping and then reload again with whatever is outbound.  The machinery may be creaky but it keeps turning over.

Nice, pics, duffman.  Thanks.

@faunch, since you're an Office fan I thought I would share this joke the wife sent to me earlier this week.  It matches the characters perfectly.

Enough of this political BS garbage guys.  I come here for relief from the drama around us, not to hear your political views.  Take it elsewhere.

Adding to the scenes theme...One of my favorite pics that i ever snapped. In 2015 we took a hurriedly arranges family trip to Florida. Our only other trip there had been to Disney and i hated it. We decided on Clearwater Beach and stayed at the Hilton right on the beach. The hotel is the only property on the beach that is allowed to have alcohol right on the beach. Didn't have a view of the ocean and all four of us were crammed into a two bed hotel room. It turned out great...we could walk out to the beach and i remember the NCAA sweet sixteen basketball was being played that weekend and I went to a couple cigars bars and watched some games. On one of our last nights the sunset was about perfect and i captured this pic of my girls as this sailboat passed by.

Folks -- I know it is really hard to talk about COVID-19 without also talking about politics, but you need to do so.

One way to try to do this is to not call out politicians by name. That is a good start. Thanks.
