https://m.startribune.com/virus-closes-u-s-bank-stadium-for-20-except-for-maybe-vikings/571420842/ If Johnnie / Tommie football 🏈 game is played this year it won't be played at US Bank.

Looks like it will probably be happening in Collegeville--social distancing since 1857!

Man, 2020 has been one f***ed up year!

Not surprising. If I were a betting man, the rivalry finale will go out at Clemens Stadium in front of a limited crown of parents and key dignitaries.

I think the headline was misleading. Some smaller events are still pending, they're just basically noting that all the summer concerts were postponed.  Johnnie-Tommie and the Prep Bowl are still on the schedule.

Well, an AFL player has tested positive.  Asymptomatic.  He's going into a quarantine along with a teammate the gov't health department decided was high risk from training footage despite testing negative.  The rest of the season goes on.

Also, no surprise, he plays for Essendon.  The team that managed to created the biggest team-based systemic doping scandal in history (according to WADA) has been the first to have a player get infected.  Of course, Geelong had a player break isolation protocols by driving up to Melbourne to get drunk with his girlfriend, harass the mother of his child, get stabbed (suspected by his "baby-mama" - I despise that phrase) and refuse to testify to police.  He's celebrated as a hero because not tested positive and challenges.  Professional sport cracks me up.  They always use the phrase "integrity of the game" but I don't think they actually know what the word "integrity" means.

"Sour" beer is the up & coming style of beer.  I represent a brewery from Ontario, Canada that makes sours the old world way from Belgium.  They use the open tray style of "brewing" a sour, which entails this big tray on another floor (normally) called a "coolship".  Our client is one of the two biggest coolships in North America.  It basically lets the naturally occurring yeasts to "run wild" and let things happen as they may.

By the way, my company also sells Hamm, Leini's, and wait for it.........ICEHOUSE!

A beer salesman?  That ranks in top 3 jobs, I reckon, and the only one of the top three I can mention to my wife.

Now there's a twist, the AFL player tested again today and is negative again. So they are testing every two days or so and it seems it went through him in just four days.  Verrrrry interesting.

Obviously, , you St. Johns alumni know the " behind the scenes" attitudes of your university's administration and athletic staff's towards continuing the rivalry once St. Thomas begins their transitional DI football schedule. Though being an an "outsider," I can't imagine that St. Thomas would not want to continue the series, when they are in the Pioneer Football League. Those schools, although it is only one or two games, still play non-conference opponents involving a variety of different schools, including occasional DIII opponents. Certainly, St. Johns would be among the upper tier DIII schools for a non-conference game as compared to some "patsy" and with the history of the rivalry, I believe it would be a viable game, still drawing large attendance.  At the very least, an every other year game would be reasonable, IMO.

I think once the switch happens the misalignment in incentives will be too great. After a few losses at the hands of the D1 Tommies, the bloom will come off the old rose for SJU pretty quick to the extent that even the larger than average gate revenue won't be worth it. I'd be shocked if they could cobble together more than 2 games after the Toms transition.

I'm OK with this rivalry going by the wayside after this season.

Cool pictures.  I assume Johns could make field goals that year?

I'm old enough to remember 1965, when SJU beat some team by 11 FGs for the national title, D.O.C.  ;D.

Thanks for the additional photos, Repete!
"Upon further review".... I made a few errors:
#62 LG is Steve Glocke
#67 RG is, indeed, the legendary Dan Dorgan-my roommate!  He was injured in the Stagg Bowl and was replaced by #60 John Kessler
The WR was Dave Rockers, not Pete....
Defense was led by:
#94 NG Ernie England
#74 DT Joe Wentzell
#58 LB Tom Young

I know he played wider receiver a few years later, but Dave Rockers would have been a freshman then, are you sure that's correct?
Yes, freshman Dave Rockers, became a starter late that season due to injuries. I believe he caught a TD pass vs. Buena  Vista In the frigid semi-final game in Collegeville. If you watch the ESPN video "St. John@, that play is in the video!!
