Rumors I'm hearing are that the majority of MIAC school's are not interested in spring football games, so there will probably not be any.

You'd think that the schools interested in playing would have been in contact with the conference, be anticipating the announcement, and have games scheduled or close to it.

I would give it another week and if we don't hear anything the spring season is DOA. Which, again, I'm fine with as a fan, but it is a shame for the guys that lost out on their senior season. Chris Backes is the first that comes to mind for me.
Agreed but with the QB talent they have he might be 3 or 4 on the depth chart.

Hi everybody. Been exactly 4 months since I last logged on. Decided this board probably needed my off topic nonsense posts for content to pass the time.

Anyway, I got the 'Rona vaccine jab the other day. Pfizer. Didn't feel the need but spousal unit wanted me to. No big deal. No side effects. I've been out in the retail world almost everyday since this all started a year ago and never was concerned. Anybody else got the shot?

As far as spring football is concerned I don't get it. You can't replace last fall. This coming fall will be here before we know it. Spring practice per normal sure. But games? Some players get hurt and can't play in the fall for these spring contests seems crazy.

But that's just me. I understand a senior missing out on their final season and what a drag that is. I have a D3 athlete son currently that lost a season and another 2 trips to Florida with his team. There's no replacing all that. Certainly not with an out of season 4 game schedule that results in basically nothing.

I'm sure I'm missing the point. But that's not the first time. First post since 11/14/2020. Nice to see you guys again. - BDB

Mrs. & I got our second Moderna last Wed. We had very little reaction but my Cardiologist was down and out for 24 hrs.
How about the local girls hockey?  :)
Good to hear from you again. +k

In Madison, WI, we both have had one Pfizer, I'm up for #2 on Friday and Mrs. gets #2 on 3/31. Am looking forward to it, would like to feel safe visiting 94 year old mom soon. And getting out to a bar and restaurant too!

57, good to hear from you.  I was actually wondering if you were still kicking just last week!  I got a surprise call from Johnnie Red the other day, too.

My folks are fully vaccinated.  I'm looking forward to having Easter with them because we haven't seen them for more than a cursory outside visit in over a year.  I'm very much anticipating our turn, but realistically, I think it'll be a while.  :-\

BDB, I'm with you on spring football, though I do understand the disappointment for those seniors that lost a season.

Doing as well as can be expected here in western Colorado. A good buddy (originally from Nordeast) and I meet at the rec center 3 times a week at 6AM to do some cardio. He is only 83 so I struggle to keep up with him.  :)
I still celebrate catfish Friday although we just got a Culver's that has walleye so there is some variety.

I don't think schools have any expectation that 3-5 spring games will "replace" a full fall schedule, but they do understand the value of providing the opportunity for their student-athletes.

Pleasantly surprised to see St. Olaf on that list that Old Auggie just posted. I would have thought they would stay out.

Kudos to Augsburg for being the only MIAC school to have an up to date Spring Schedule posted on their team's website. One school still has the 2019 season listed, (yeah, the one moving on to D1).
