I motion to approve their champion status.
The Auggie colors!

The context surely appears tongue-in-cheek to me!

Having just said on the podcast that I don't advocate ring-shaming for schools who choose to get rings for conference titles ... I would if that happened here. :)

Yeah, lighten up folks, they're just having some fun!  Isn't that what it's all about??

Yes!  When was the last time a left tackle was taken seriously?
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

Every time someone lines up at defensive end trying to sack the QB from their blind side!

It sounds like something a school in Texas would do quite regularly that wears maroon and white.  Seems like Auggie is learning from Aggie.  In the end I file this under the who gives a file.

Augsburg plays St. Olaf tonight in what will hopefully be a good experience for all involved.  If Augsburg wins they can claim whatever they desire.  If St. Olaf wins then I hope they don't celebrate like they won the Super Bowl.  Good luck to all involved.

In case anyone cares, the SJU Spring Game spectators will be limited to parents of players.  I was really hoping they'd let a limited number of fans in.

Maybe I can temporarily adopt one of the players.

Maybe if you offer to make a tuition payment for him...

A tradition unrivaled...

St Thomas will not challenge Augsburg's title claim in their final MIAC season. This Saturday will be an intrasquad scrimmage instead and then the Johnnie smokefest can really proceed in earnest, with no legitimate challenger.

Wasn’t the legitimacy of U$T the point of the whole #texit kerfuffle in the first place?  Some might argue that next year’s championship will be the first one in quite some time without a hanging question of legitimacy...  :o

I'm not sure if there's a D3 softball board so I decided to post this here. After 21 season John Tschida is leaving U$T and going back to St. Mary's. IMO I'm guessing not all U$T coaches were on board with the D1 plan. I'm sure they'll find a qualified replacement.
For the record the current U$T football coach once told me, "I'm a D3 guy." Point being is that coaching is a lot of work and coaching at a D1 school, combined with the travel, is a monumental undertaking for coaches that are used to taking the short bus rides to Hamline, Mac, Bethel and Auggie Tech.

It's unfortunate collateral damage from the move. I assume the hockey coach retiring was somewhat related to the transition as well. It's a big difference in lifestyle and will take an adjustment, so I won't be surprised if there are other coaching changes that occur in the next few years as well.

Good for coach Tschida though to have the opportunity to make a smooth transition to his alma mater and remain in D3/MIAC.

What thoughts are out there regarding the 2021 season and Covid guidelines / restrictions? Will be limited across all levels of the NCAA?
