Track and visitors bleachers are still in progress. But field and video board are up and running. Like the hype video

Apparently these videos play on the video board during pregame at Clemens Stadium. All of them got me fired up. The one with John addressing the team (#2) sent chills down my spine. It reminded me of when I attended a few Crimson Tide games in Tuscaloosa. One of the things they play on the video boards during pregame are some cuts spliced into their hype video of Bear Bryant speaking about Alabama football. The fans there openly say it's like the voice of God to them.

I am not going to go as far as to say that John is a deity, but having his voice as part of the pregame does an excellent job tying together the past with the present.

The new videos and board are great and will enhance an already fabulous environment for football.  Johnnies looked good, but will need to improve the secondary.

I know that Keating gets used on this board to illustrate a player around for a long time, but I think we need to retire that one with Veldman's 7th season....he was a freshman at NDSU when Saquon Barkley was a freshman at Penn State and this year's freshman were still 7th graders.

An early good luck this weekend to all MIAC teams, particularly BU and GAC. I'm hoping for some epic games as the season progresses.

Huge win by the Gusties.  Olies won as well.  And BU.  A good MIAC season coming up.

Why did they kneel on the PAT?

Guaranteed to stay a 2 score game that way.

Some D1 team is losing 9-3 to a D2 team!
12-9 final win for Tomcats. I didn't bother to read if it was an all FG day or if some weird 2 point PAT behind the back pass factored into the inaugural season with D1.....
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Nice day for the MIAC.

Bethel got some things sorted out up front with their younger Oline guys and worked through cramps for their top two RB's. D played very well. Always good to get a W against solid WIAC team.

I begrudgingly am glad to see the Tommies win this opening game.  For a few years they will be called "a former DIII" team and have a little impact on our own reputation.  The better they do the better for us.

Gustavus had a win over a ranked Wartburg squad & St Olaf is leading Luther. Augsburg only lost by 1 against Nebraska Wesleyan. Concordia-Moorhead thumped NAIA Presentation. With St Thomas gone, I hope all of the remaining MIAC squads improve which would benefit St John's & the conference!

You make a good point.  The in-state DIII talent will be spread around a little more.  And SCSU dropping football spreads a little more in-state talent.   We could have a good five years of MIAC football until the next shakeup (not predicting anything, just saying).

Carleton played their first game of the season and beat Minnesota-Morris 50-13. Next up is Crown and then conference play kicks off with Hamline and Mac before the Battle for the Goat.

Well NCC looks outstanding. Did Aurora just not really show up or is SJU that far behind the tier 1 teams? Lots of work to do during this season and Bethel will be a very interesting game for both teams.
