Plenty of mismatches likely Saturday, but Larson and Alston vs. the smallish MLC LBs/DBs could be fun before it becomes sad.

Hello Gents!

Have not been around in a while...I Haven't been in the betting game in a while, since I lost my a$$ once a long time ago.  Can you actually bet on the Tommies Iowa Game???

You can try to find action on St. Thomas-Iowa but it would probably be difficult.

I've had a buddy looking for a spread but he said it hasn't been posted. I don't see how they would be able to come up with a line on the game. U$T barely beat a middling D2 team and UNI had Iowa State on the ropes two weeks ago and kicked the crap out of Sacramento in the second half last week. If there were a spread it would have to be 35...and did I see that the Gophs are favored by 3 at Colorado?

Colorado is favored by 3.  I set the UST-UNI line at 40 but it certainly seems possible that UST could put together some first downs and keep it closer than that.  UNI also didn't throw it much against Sacramento.

My point was that St. Thomas isn't playing Iowa this week, so you would have a hard time finding that line. :)

Pat, he's from Chicago and lumps all schools in Iowa as "Iowa". I followed your humor on that one  :)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

UNI also has a QB controversy on it's hands as Michigan State transfer Theo Day came in in the second half and the offense showed some life.
I think your 40.5 line is pretty reasonable. BillC's model had it at 57. I think it's really a matter of how many points UNI wants to score and how hard they try to keep it within reason.

I would LOVE to see St Thomas play Iowa! Then St John's & Iowa, my two favorite collegiate teams, would have wins over St Thomas! I guess I'll have to settle for UNI embarrassing them.

I got to see my 2nd favorite college beat St. Thomas last night.  I took my girls to watch the Gophers steamroll the Tommies in volleyball.  The Tommies at least gave their fans a few nice kills to cheer about and I have seen worse blowouts in the UMAC, so not a bad way to begin the D1 Tommies vs Gophers era.

We watched it on TV.  That was a whooping, and neither Landfair or Samedy played.  The Tommies ended the night with a negative hitting percentage.  :'(

To be fair, it was hard for UST's D3 recruited seniors to get a running game going, having such enormous balls and all.

I have no misconceptions about what will happen tomorrow, and say what you want about the administration and athletic department, but what these kids are doing takes some sand.

Interesting article about Michael Veldman, apparently 13 semesters?

How many credit hours does he have?
Post grad studies?

Just curious.

Coach, we realize your Tommies are huge underdogs Saturday at Northern Iowa, but best of luck keeping it reasonable.

BDB - Quite sure I saw you at the UW-Stout game last week but I have no idea what you look like. I made the decision that I did see you and called it good.
