Rough weekend for the Skyline Division.

Carleton sitting at 3-0. 

Started with Morris, Crown and Hamline. Macalester next. Then St. Olaf and St. Scholastica.

Are we gonna be looking at 6-0 Carleton?
I wish I'd offered to be a Top 25 Fan Poll voter just so I could rank them for the sake of chaos.

I suspect 6-0 Carleton gets lots of votes in the Top 25 ... from the AFCA.

I hope this becomes a reality.

What's your number crunching that led you to +3.5 for UST @ San Diego? That's a tighter line than I would have expected, but it also appears San Diego is down a bit from recent years, so maybe we're going to make a close game of this.

What's your number crunching that led you to +3.5 for UST @ San Diego? That's a tighter line than I would have expected, but it also appears San Diego is down a bit from recent years, so maybe we're going to make a close game of this.

Mostly a wild guess but Massey has it at 7, and I think there will be some overreaction to the recent results.  San Diego looks to have taken a few steps backward since they had a team capable of winning a playoff game.

Imagine if the TCO/Vikings complex had a little bit more seating. I think it officially holds 7,000. It would be a great setup for a MIAC championship game.

This is just my out-state Minnesota bias coming out. I respectfully disagree. The Twin Cities is not the center of the universe. The world does not end past Maple Grove.

Let's see how the games do on campus before we go hunting for some neutral site in the metro. The conference has just gone through some massive tectonic shifts. Let's allow the dust to clear for a few years.

I agree. Neutral site games generally suck and I think would have a negative effect on turnout being off campus. I think the TCO complex is really cool, but I'm not sure it's the ideal spot for a MIAC Championship game.

And I think the rotation of divisions hosting isn't the worst solution. But you potentially run the risk of a team having to go on the road to win the first game, and then on the road again to win the rematch. That's a really odd scenario. For instance (not a prediction here), Let's say GAC wins at Bethel, yet Bethel still wins the Skyline, and SJU drops games to Concordia and GAC. Now GAC has to return to Bethel for the title game at season's end for the rematch.

These divisions are gonna take some getting used to.

Except for D1 mega events, I think anytime a college game is moved off campus the experience changes and not for the better.

I concur.  Sure, it'll suck if BU and SJU win out and SJU has to travel to BU, but I'd really hate it in years in which the Northwoods hosts if SJU were to win out and then get forced to play at a neutral site.

Those of us old enough to remember the MIAC Metrodome showdowns know what an unappealing event those games were.
