The Gusties gashed the Cobbers for 220 on the ground. With as much attention that teams have to give the SJU passing game I'd like to see the Johnnies come out and run the ball.

I wonder how Trost's injury is.  Vouk does a nice job, too, but Trost has a bit more size.

Any word on if Veldman is out indefinitely?

I'm surprised there hasn't been more chatter on this. I caught a glimpse of him still in shoulder pads on crutches in the post-game huddle (which is odd that he kept shoulder pads on considering he left the game in the first quarter.) I doubt we can glean anything meaningful from that, but thought it was interesting.

Bartch played almost three quarters at right guard.  And it looks like he'll get a few starts now as the starting RG dinged his knee.  Best of all, I got to watch the game as the feature games are all broadcast down here.  They ran behind him a lot.  I reckon the Johnnie is going to make it.

From the Johnnie football radio show last night, it sounds like Trost will be out for this game and maybe a bit more, but not as bad as they thought originally. Mohr is going to be out longer. Lang (TE) is back.

Oz, It was good to hear Bartch's name called on the broadcast numerous times. I reckon you may be on to something.

Yes, it's available on Stretch. Just go to the "On Demand" section and you can listen to them later. Sometimes the editing is weird so you have to scroll ahead a bit to get to the broadcast, but it's there.

I like Tony Underwood in the backfield. I know he's listed at 180 but he's got some speed. Watched him bust a lot of long runs at CDH.

Henry was listed at 180 as a Fr and 190 as a So. Give Tony a few more years in the weight room and a Bartch smoothie.  :)

Vouk and Underwood make a pretty good tandem as "back-ups" - showed pretty well last week when it counted when Trost was out.

Also last week they played #38, Isaiah Traufler, 6'1 195 lb. SO RB from Blaine/Totino-Grace, a fair amount. Seemed like he lined up more as a TE/H-back sort of guy, doesn't show in the stats with either a carry or catch.  But looked like a pretty decent specimen. Hadn't seen him before.

Mr. Hazz -

I noticed that all 3 of our receivers who had any stats against SJU were freshman.  Are they Covid freshman (actually started school fall of 2020) or are they true freshman?

Bodes well for the future potentially!

Geez, the sound quality for Football Weekly is atrocious. It sounds like they are recording the show in a steel grain bin.

I listened to the replay for less than five seconds.  Bummer, too, as I enjoy that on the Saturday morning dog walk.
