I agree that the Cobbers spell trouble.  Also, though, the Johnnies left a few scores on the table vs. Bethel--most notably Ganz dropping a wide open TD ball that hit him in the bread basket.

The Gusties gashed the Cobbers for 220 on the ground. With as much attention that teams have to give the SJU passing game I'd like to see the Johnnies come out and run the ball.
Hopefully we can get pressure on the Cobber QB and get and interception or two. Agreed that our d line came up big last week...need our coverage guys to make a play or two. At times it seems there is absolute confusion in the secondary.

Tim Schmitz has a grandson ready to play?

Woohoo!  Mrs Oz just told me it's daylight savings (Beginning or ending?  Who knows?) and that means I get an extra hour of sleep.  Kickoff is at 5am.  Nice.

Wouldn't you be springing ahead down under?  Meaning, you lose an hour of sleep

I don't know.  The alarm is set for 4:45 and last weekend it was 3:45.  In a few weeks when you guys go it will be set to 5:45, which is almost a decent hour.

ESPN's College GameDay put up a stat showing that Alabama has had 29 games in which they scored 50+ points in a game since 2007. Out of curiosity I pulled up the season results for St John's & in that same time frame the Johnnies have had 30 games in which they've scored 50+ points. Therefore, St John's > Alabama! LOL!

Wow, what a game.  Concordia unfortunately ran into a Johnnie squad that put it all together.  The offense was very sharp but the defense was red hot.  The front was great, as before, but the pass defense was like a blanket.  There was nothing going for the Cobbers in the air.

If the Johnnies continue to build from here then good golly, they will be trouble.

Also, Syverson has some talent.

Knights retained the Book of Knowledge, beating Mac 24-10 in a torrential downpour. 0-2 start for Mac in their MIAC return. Carleton travels across the river next week to take on the Oles.

Obviously a lot of games to go, and wild things can happen, but based on the Gustavus - Concordia result, and the BU vs. Gustavus and SJU vs. Concordia results, it sure seems to point to a MIAC championship rematch.

Hopefully long term some other MIAC teams can elevate over time, or it's going to be a MIAC season of limited excitement.  Also, if historical trends hold true, and BU has a couple of down years mixed in now and then, it could be pretty boring for SJU, assuming they stay strong.

Also - UST just went up 24-14 in the 3rd quarter.  Wow!

Carlton's first 4-0 start in a long time, as well.  Since electricity maybe.  :o

Ha! Close. First time they've been 4-0 since 2008 when Carleton started off 5-0 and we all know how that season ended. Coincidentally, this year they close with the Johnnies at home too.

Kidder is a COVID frosh for sure. They were excited for him last fall when we called the scrimmage. Not sure on the others.
