Some very whistle happy officiating today in Cobberville. So many PI's and roughing the passers and personal fouls, against both teams. Let me play fellas!

It's the first time St. John's has shut out three consecutive opponents since 1977.

I bet it's the first time ever that, as 57 observed, the Johnnies have pulled a hat trick double stomp out.

EDIT: I just did a quick look at the record books and Joe Benda, the coach before Gagliardi, could do defense.  He had an 11 game shutout streak which included all seven games in 1932 and the first four games in 1933.  I don't think that streak will be broken.

I know that others that voyeur on this board will believe otherwise but i wish U$T had beat San Diego...think how good that make the Johnnies and the top D3 teams look.
On contrary to popular opinion i do not wish that the Tommie plane ✈️ would crash...that would be a waste of a plane. 😂

(psst...score margin up in Collegeville...be careful fellas)

Hopefully President Anderson is busy this afternoon.

We were careful...could have been way worse...not our fault the Ole qb dropped the ball without being hit.

Or could only generate 28 yards in a half.

This game was over from the jump. Ugly first half that saw our offense in second gear for about half of it. Second half got exciting watching back ups keep the goose egg and STO celebrate (excessively at times) getting a first down or forcing SJU to punt.

Looking ahead how many points does SJU give up the remainder of the conference season or does Bethel turn out to be only one of the bunch destined to cross the goal line?

I think Gustavus will put some points on the board (2 scores?). There's a decent chance that Carlton and CSS will be two more shutouts though.

Agreed...I didn't think it was an overheated or dirty game that needed to be reined in. I'm sure we were watching through different lenses, but the BU TD drive that was essentially due to two PI calls and a late hit on the QB had my head shaking. Not saying there wasn't contact that could be called, but it felt oven-controlled. Cobbers got their breaks via the flag too, to be sure, but that one entire first half BU drive really hangs heavy.

Aside from that, it was an entertaining nail-biter. Good rivalry!
If the human brain were so simple that we could fully understand it...we would be so simple that we couldn't.

Fully prepared to hear you pump up a Gustavus team that just played a close game against Hamline as a real test for SJU.

Fast forward to the following week when you'll say that CSS has nothing to lose and is extremely dangerous to SJU.

Let a guy have his simple pleasures.  It's been a long time since we saw football and this squad (almost all our squads) is practically brand new (almost all the players still have that new car smell, even).  The Jays are starting to hit some good form.  I want it to continue until we're lined up against BU in the championship game (knock on wood).

CSS will be a stretch, yes, but in the MIAC's division format GAC just needs to win this one game and they are in the championship game against BU (which for the conference won't be a bad result despite the heartburn it causes me).  GAC should be ready to play and on their own field to boot.  Are the Johnnies going to lose?  Almost certainly not but the mix is there for it to happen.

The GAC crossing the goal line is a plausible theory, however I believe the kids have challenged themselves to a string of shutouts. The way the back ups dug in during the 4th Q showed me this is this team's mentality. Time will tell.
Go Johnnies  8-)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!
