Also shows what $20M buys for a stadium.
A large percentage of those kinds are getting marching ban scholarships at Power 5 schools, no doubt. Yea, that's a real thing......

Maybe Mrs Oz was right and I shouldn't have made fun of #1's clarinet group, the Liquorice Sticks, all those years ago by calling them "The Mighty Fighting Liquorice Sticks."  I won't tell her if you don't.

The Jags announced a couple hours ago that the starting RG is out for the rest of the season.  Bartch's time to shine.  ESPN already has him listed at the starting RG.

The blow-out game this week has to be St. Scholastica at St. John's. Even though the Johnnies lost their starting QB last week in their win over Gustavus, I won't be surprised to see their defense get another shut-out this season. Double Monkey Stomp, anyone?

I'm thinking that if I'm Gary I keep Backes in longer than I otherwise would in a game like this. Normally, I don't think you would want to expose your QB to injury if its a blowout, but I think Backes wants and needs as many game reps as he can get to sharpen up for the stretch run and, barring a catastrophic collapse, a playoff run.

100% agree. You need to get him reps, and reps with the 1's in a game situation and with as much of the playbook as possible.

Agree...it's just horrible timing considering the last time we played Scholastica the score was 98-0.

It's actually a worst case scenario for CSS. They need real reps, working through real plays, against a live D. SJU D can likely get other guys a lot of reps, but we should absolutely see the SJU O 1's for a lot longer than we would otherwise. And you can't fault them for doing it.

Somebody just needs to disable the internet connection at St. Olaf this weekend. Or maybe just send President Anderson on a cruise or something so he's distracted and not doing any scoreboard gazing.

99-0? I'm in favor. Although this one doesn't involve a former coordinator/QB on the opposing coaching staff.

The game notes are out for the CSS match and they confirm one thing we already know which is that Backes is starting.  They don't mention Syverson's injury.

SJU13

Some good bits about the defensive front four, team efficiency, and the punting in the notes. Was looking back at the 2017 contest. Bartch was a TE and had more receiving yards than Evan Clark. Backes was a Fr and posted season highs of 7 yards rushing with a long of 4 yards. First Johnnie game in and now first Johnnie start against CSS.

I believe President Anderson is leaving at the end of this year.  An official search committee was recently announced.  As an Ole I can tell you that there are multiple Oles who have been disappointed with President Anderson over the years.  I have not heard any updates on our AD regarding his health issues.  I know why many of you don't like the leadership at St. Olaf for several reasons, but thought I would share.

Any particular reason President Anderson is leaving? He's got to be around 70 years old, so maybe retirement?
