I'll be surprised (pleasantly) is SJU gets a #1 seed.

I don't see it-too hard to bracket around. And we would have to play linfield in third round

You're probably correct but I still hope.

I'll have to watch that game again.  A game of two halves.  BU came out fired up and ready to play, taking it to the Johnnies the whole first half.  The Jays were hanging on to be as close as it was.  But that first Johnnie drive of the second half set a new tone in Johnnie play.  The Royals didn't back down, either.  It was a fitting effort for a championship game.

I really hope the committee finds a way to give the Royals a spot in the post-season.  They are an excellent team who will almost certainly make the quarter finals, maybe even further.

Who is the MIAC MVP?

Typically has gone to someone on the the team that wins the MIAC. So is it Trost then?

For my money, Kidder is the best talent in the league. But Bethel didn't win it today.

A look around the MIAC and it's bad news for those of us who don't like the championship weekend.  Good games all around.

HAM and CSS played a nail biter and HAM won by a point with a TD in the final minutes.

CAR and MAC play a high scoring matchup which CAR wins by 3 in another down to the wire game.

STO and AUG play a fierce contest where AUG comes storming from way back to tie late in the 4th only to see STO with a game winning drive and score with less than two minutes remaining.

GAC handled CON pretty easily in the only contest from the weekend that wasn't a thriller.  I think the division play will get some life.

FINAL STANDINGS

My spreads were pretty off this week, St. Olaf over Augsburg was the first victory by a double-digit underdog in a while.  Thanks to everyone for following along and picking!  Best of luck to the Johnnies and hopefully Royals in the playoffs, that was a tremendous championship game.

Home from work now - what a game. Congrats to the Johnnies, and I hope Bethel doesn't have to see them until there are only 4 teams (or 2 teams) standing in the play-offs. Yes, I am hoping that the selection committee looks at BU and chooses them as an at-large team. Maybe they get one home game, maybe they are road warriors throughout. Whatever, I would take it. The Royals really showed their mettle today, and have nothing to hang their heads about.

Waiting for the final stats to come in, but I think #37 Travis Brown from Carleton could certainly make a case. One of the better defenders in the MIAC, in addition to being one of the better punters, and possibly the best returner. Is he going to get the award? Obviously not, but once the stats are finalized I'll make my pitch. Congrats to the Johnnies. Bethel absolutely deserves to be in and I imagine the committee knows that. If not, to whom do we write our letters?

Attendance at bethel today?

Per the box score, 5,982.

Johnnies travel well, again.  Figure we made Bethel somewhere in the range of $12k today.

Conor Pavelko  ;D

Honestly, there's usually a fairly obvious choice, but no one sticks out to me.  Trost is a beast, but I don't know that he put up MVP stats (probably more due to the system he plays in).

Roste is a good choice--not a MIAC champ, though.
