Any word on Trost's injury?

Haven't heard boo.  It didn't look good at the time but he's interviewed post game and is standing unassisted and looks trouble free.  So, hopefully just a bad ding which he can walk off.

Speaking of the 409 game, I think today's finish is in the conversation for greatest Bethel-Saint John's finish ever.

Here's the top finishes as I see it (in no particular order):
2021
2009 (49-yd FG by Russell Gliadon to give the Johnnies a comeback Homecoming win)
2003 (the 409 game)
2007 (Logan Flannery 1 yd run with 24 seconds left to give BU the win)
2008 (BU stops the Johnnies at the 2-yd line to win the game)

I know there were some dramatic finishes in the late 90s, but those were before my time (and I can't find a box score that would indicate a wild finish)

D3football.com's predicted bracket is out. SJU is in NCC's bracket. BU misses out to Ithaca.

I hope that they're wrong and that the committee doesn't pick the same old bracket seeds because it's easier. SJU should easily be in front of UHMB. And I also think BU has the stronger two-loss record and should get in before Ithaca.

We'll see tomorrow.

If we're going to pick four regions based on geography then have four regions, not six.  Six regions essentially gives the east and north two extra bites at the cherry. Six regions implies the committee selects on merit over convenience. So do it.

Based on criteria, SJU should get a number 1 seed over UMHB.  Doesn't really matter that much other than temporary bragging rights.

I don't think it does what you think it does. Cortland is No. 1 in Region 2 but is a No. 3 seed in our bracket, for example.

I don't think it's geographically possible to build a bracket around St. John's instead of Mount Union.

That's my point.  If we're going to build brackets around geographies then make the regions into geographies.  If Mount and UHMB default to home seeds until the semis because of their geographies then the NCAA should just admit it rather than play games with these six regions.  If UWW gets to own this geography, despite SJU's dominance of the ranking criteria, because two years ago they beat St John's in Whitewater when UWW blocked a field goal attempt with less than two minutes left then why bother with the ranking criteria?

We keep pretending that this is an objective, transparent process but the results are always exactly the same because money.  I'm fine with money being an excuse.  But stop pretending it isn't until the last moment when the brackets are seeded.  If the only the thing the regional rankings are good for is pool c selections then call them the pool c rankings.

Charlie Carr has a spectacular view of the game winning TD.  Charlie seems to get these videos so often that I would almost queue off him to see where the Johnnies are going to play.  The guy seems to always be in exactly the right spot to get the perfect footage.

I know I am a sap, but I had to re-listen to the final Johnnie touchdown and the reaction in the booth! I love Bryan Backes' moment of emotion and pride in his son. It made me verklempt!🥰

Great suggestion, bennie.

This is going to be one of the most interesting selection shows, based on how people in D3 bracketology page see very different brackets. From 1 seeds- SJU? Not Mount? To pool C teams, to where teams will be sent and to play whom.
One thought, maybe I am incorrect, but I thought the committee looked at the previous year's results when looking at undefeated teams. So the last year of full play was 2019 and many teams have a number of players back from 2019, like in any other year, so why wouldn't SJU be ahead of umbh and be a 1 seed? I know i have said geographically it isn't the best, but then just have the ncaa say we have East, West, North and South no matter the criteria.

Zip, reading your comments yesterday I thought the Johnnies lost and were doomed to a 5 seed 😉😆

The money/mileage rule seems to apply in D3 hockey as well. I notice it during the fans hand wringing waits for Auggie hockey playoff brackets. Unfortunately, this is the nature of D3 sports.

Congratulations to the Johnnies!

Well, I delete that so it doesn't count. 😀
