I don't like (potentially) meeting Linfield 2nd round, but on my initial look, I think these brackets look pretty good.

Given the money/geographical constraints they have to work around, I think this is about as fair as they can make them. Central with a very tough draw as an unbeaten. Need to beat Bethel, Wheaton, and UWW to get out of the region if chalk holds. That's a gauntlet  :o
A gauntlet is right! No easy games for sure. This is part of what 15 5th year seniors came back to do, so might as well head in full blast! Play well and stay healthy everyone. Congratulations to St Johns on their number 1 seed and to Bethel on getting a well deserved pool C.

Save to assume bethel was the last team to get in. So getting a tough road isn't really shocking. Glad the committee didn't punish the Royals for having to play in a conference championship. Kudos to them.

It was either us of JHU. Honestly, I think we might have gotten in first. Ithaca v. Bethel was a 2 loss pickem. My guess is JHU was the last team selected and Ithaca never got on the board. Not sure if Pat & Co. have an interview lined up with the STout AD, but I'd love for them to ask for those details  :)

Curious if the last second loss contributed to Bethel getting in? Say if SJU beats them by two scores yesterday would they still be in?

I would assume the fact both losses came to a #1 seed, by a total of 7 pts, and the last one where they literally trailed for 1 second of the game, were all points in their favor. If they lose by 7 and trail all game are they still in? Who knows ... but I'm still a little salty we didn't just win the game outright personally  ;)

I suspect SJU was seeded above UWW in the final RR.

I hope so. Don't want to get ahead of myself, but I do NOT want to play at Whitewater in the playoffs again. I still have nightmares from that friggin cannon.

Just glad we are on the opposite side of North Central, they are going to be extremely tough for anyone to beat and possibly even stay close with.

Hasn't been a cannon in the playoffs for about 10 years. It was either a Wesley or MHB that complained a while back and forced us to ditch it for the playoffs

You guys had to move it off site for the playoffs -right? And now it is completely banned?

Yeah, no artificial noise makers in the playoffs.

The great thing about the playoffs is meeting opposing fans-UWW has some great fans, but man I miss oldpa and drinking frozen beers from his trunk -the Cadillac. I went up there a couple times even when sju wasn't playing.

Just comparing the bracket to the final Top 25 poll. #10 Hardin-Simmons, #20 Ithaca, #21 Randolph-Macon, & #22 UW-River Falls are the only teams ranked in the final regular season poll that were not selected to the field of 32. It appears that St John's received the #1 overall seed, although their quadrant appears to be the most loaded. Whitewater, North Central, & Mount Union all face 8-2 teams in their opening round game whereas St John's faces a 10-0 Lake Forest squad. The St John's bracket has the #2, #5, #7, #16, #19, #24, & #25 teams. Only Huntingdon is unranked in our quadrant. Whitewater won't face a ranked opponent until the quaterfinals. I'm glad that Bethel was selected & am excited to see how they play against Central as well as how Aurora plays against Wheaton. Will also be excited to see the the quaterfinal game however those four teams shake out!
