I've waited until the podcast dropped and I could listen to it before commenting on the shafting that North Central got from the NCAA in not being able to host the Semi-final game this coming weekend. I was incredulous when I heard the news. And now hearing that it has the appearance of "smoke and mirrors" and nobody on the committee really caring about the precedent they are setting. I suspect there will be some kind of investigation, but I hope it just isn't cursory and everything just continues as it is headed - which seems to be favoritism via greasing the skids. Grrr.

I agree. The NCAA has done some "curious" things over the years. This is in the "curious" category.

Speaking of curious, anyone know when Mount Union last played a road playoff game?

@ Oshkosh in 2017. They won 43-40. Oshkosh was undefeated coming into the game and defending runner-up. Mount beat UMHB in the championship to finish 15-0 but had 2 losses (JCU and UMHB in playoffs) the previous year.

OK, so not that long ago. Part of me was expecting someone to say something crazy like 2001.

I'm still probably ticked if I'm North Central, though. Especially when the explanation from the committee for Mount Union hosting is in the neighborhood of, "meh, we felt like it."

Mount was definitely at home in the 2001 semis.  They beat our a$$es.   :'(

In defense of Mount Union, they always had the gold standard tie breaker which was last seasons playoff results... oh wait I think I may of heard something about that recently.

Now, easing us into non-MIAC post season conversation--how about the formerly 0-10-1 Detroit Lions beating the Vikings?!

As a guy that has been a recovering Vikings fan since 2006, its games like that which leave me grateful I am walking the path of recovery.

Not sure if anyone saw this over on the NWC board or elsewhere, but this is a terrifying freak accident.  I hope that Brock makes a swift recovery!

Anyone that may want to pitch in, a senior Linfield LB was hospitalized due to an injury late in the UMHB game and is currently still in Texas

There are occasional meetings, which help for accountability and reduce relapses. Everyone in the program has a kit, also available as a digital download on your home computer or smart phone, that has pictures and video of every devastating Vikings loss and other humiliating moments going back to the origins of the franchise. We are also working on setting up a 24/7 crisis hotline which gives members the ability to call an 800 number and listen to the radio call of Morton Andersen's 38-yard field goal to beat the Vikings in the 1998 NFC Championship Game.

As a Bears fan (living in WI), I can sympathize. Not sure if I'll ever see a QB, or an offense, that's worth a damn in my lifetime. Coaches and GMs come and go, some how it always ends up the same. I hate being a Bears fan.

Bears/Packers this weekend. I fully expect Bears to embarrass themselves on Sunday.....like usual.

How does Kidder not make one of the All Region teams. He and Ravi were at another level at WR in the MIAC. Also keep in mind the Aug and Mac WR got to feast on lesser competition given the division scheduling. Nothing against them as athletes, but Kidder is the better wideout.

I'm guessing the Vikings fans on the board will have little sympathy for you, 02. Four Super Bowl appearances and zero wins will do that to you. At least you have 1985.

There is also another component to Viking fandom that, more often than not, is exacerbated by the ineptitude of all of Minnesota's professional franchises over the last 30 years.

Chicago has had recent success with the Cubs, Blackhawks, and White Sox--not to mention the 1990s Bulls dynasty.

Minnesota has the longest active drought between professional sports championships of any city that has 3 or more professional franchises, and it is over halfway toward achieving Cleveland status.

Yeah, I was 5 when that happened. I have no recollection of that happening except if I look in the history books. My only SB memory is the Bears getting beat by Manning 15 years ago. Fun times.
