Trick play out of Loganville, Georgia during overtime of a game tied at 39.

It's reminiscent of UST's behind the back fake extra point against Carleton in 2015 on their way to a 80-3 victory. The only difference is that Loganville did it in a game where the stakes were super high. That kind of a misstep could have lost them the game.

I haven't been on the boards in quite some time but I figured since UWW was goin to SJU there would be some good trash talking but I notice that the WIAC board is pretty quiet.  I was debating about heading up to the game this weekend but. Changed plans when I found out the weekend after is alumni weekend vs UMHB.

The google translator used for caveman->English has been down so a lot of WIACers have been silenced.

And, no, I wouldn't dare say that to your face.

I'm mean what's there to say? It's been a couple decades since SJU last beat us.

So I guess they're due for a win.

(How's that?)

Not a lot of data over the last couple of decades to back your point, but I'm impressed that someone as amiable as you took a shot. And early in the week, too! You must be getting fired up!  ;)

That's the best I got.

I'm not saying UWW can or will win. Just jokingly bringing to light the previous 3-4 matchups over the past 20 years or so. :P

I think SJU's got a tall task ahead of them but applaud them for scheduling a high-caliber opponent (kudos to both programs for challenging themselves early).  You know you're going to get a hard-hitting and very skilled team from UWW, so SJU's going to need to come out firing, or it could be a long day.  Starting out 0-1 with a loss the the Warkhawks wouldn't really concern me much, though.

I'm hoping for a good, clean game between two excellent teams!

I just took a peak back at the series history, and the last time SJU beat Whitewater, I was playing.  :o

One oddity about the scheduling is that both fan bases have a vested interest in rooting for the other team the rest of the way after Saturday.

I think the headline is: "SJU undefeated against UWW at home since 2002"

(Long time lurker chiming in)

Let's be honest, that last game in 2019 could have gone either way.  I was in the band for that game as an old guy coming back to help.  I think both teams, as well as both fan bases, left absolutely everything in that stadium that day, and I can't argue that the better team at the end of the day didn't win, even if SJU would have pulled that out.  If Saturday's game is just a fraction of that energy, it's going to be a great start to the season for both teams no matter what the outcome.

sjujohnnie

Can anyone with any knowledge shed any light on why the decline at the end of Gagliardi's tenure occurred (2010-2012)? Gary was able to turn things around quickly & get St John's back to where they belong! Anxious for Saturday! Will be a good measure of where we're at & undoubtedly our toughest test until the playoffs (assuming we can get past Bethel in conference).

Pat Coleman

I think it's not a coincidence that it happened around the same time as St. Thomas taking football seriously, along with some very strong Bethel teams.
