Are there any photos of the new turf at Clemens?

Tons.

Here's one to start. More to come.

Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

I wasn't trying to present that with arrogance or cockinesss. I just thought without Kickoff this year, people might be interested in a little bit about the Johnny's opponent on Saturday. Sorry if I offended.

I'd love to hear a summary of the Johnnies if anyone has some info.

It's game week.  There's no room for understanding actual intent or meaning now.  We can be reasonable after the final whistle.

(There's also no room for hurt feelings - it's all done in jest)

Game notes are out:  https://gojohnnies.com/documents/2022/8/31/090322_Whitewater_GameNotes.pdf

Some highlights (many of which we already know):

* SJU is ranked #5, UWW #4
* Since 2018, the Johnnies are 35-4.  The Warhawks are 37-4
* SJU is 8-0 in the season opener under Gary Fasching and 3-0 all-time on Sept 3.  Oh, boy, has he put that record to the test this year.
* Since 2002, SJU is 33-4 in regular-season non-conference games.  All four losses were to UWEC (2002, '04, '10, '11)
* Senior DBack Ethan Stark is our fastest man at 4.53.  30 Johnnies are under 4.8.  Quick team.
* The roster has 198 players from 16 states.  Big squad.
* The Jays have six freshmen who played in the MN High School All-Star game last year.  Two more players named to the Vikings' All-State team (cursed - poor fellas)
* The roster already had 13 All-Star game participants from previous years.
* Eight transfers (2 from D1 FBS, 3 from D1 FCS, 1 D2, 1 D3)
* Four all-region returnees
* 10 all-MIAC returners

-4 non conf losses to UWEC. You'd think they'd fill the space with something more, I don't know, impressive.
-4.8 seconds in the 40. I can run a 4.8 for cry eye, and I'm ..., well calculating the age is tough but my forged UWW diploma says 1987.
-That 6'7" Tight End probably runs like Groot.

4 out of the top 5 Division III prognosticators are picking St John's to advance to the national semifinals! I hope they're right, but losing to Whitewater would put us squarely behind the 8-ball. I hope they're right!

The "Top 5" Division III prognosticators are:

1. Me
2. Emma17
3. 02 Warhawk
4. Bobo
5. BadgerWarhawk

In that order.   ;) And we have not yet released our semi-final and Stagg selections.

So, I have to ask. Where are you getting your information?  :)

sjujohnnie

I'll let you take it up with the d3football.com contributors if you feel your list of prognosticators are more qualified.

Thunderbirds had one win last season. A little surprised things got chippy at the end.
