Nice win for the Johnnies...sleep well Duffman
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Good win.  11 yards rushing has me a bit concerned.

SJU13

Looked like UWW #18 might've gotten banged up in the third with an ankle issue. Didn't seem him out there until later in the fourth. Hope it's nothing major with another big week ahead.

SJU did well to avoid mental errors and capitalized on enough of UWW's.

Any news on Roste? Looked like he left in the first.

RIP MUC57 ... just catching up on the board. He'll be missed, bummer never to have met him in person.

Great start for Alston at Montana St. Some big catches, including a TD. Three for 48 at this point. Fun to watch.

Didn't know about MUC 57 until I read it here.
RIP

Most good schools gave it up.

Quote$10.00 to watch the St. John's –Whitewater game?   ???
It doesn't even cost that much to see most games in person.   :o
Is St. John's that hard up for money?  ::)
Is this something new, or has this traditionally been the case?

Agreed....offensive line play needs to improve. I know UWW had something to do with that but we really struggled to move the Warhawks at the line of scrimmage. When we threw the ball Seyverson never looked comfortable. Other than hime and Larson I'm not really sure who else is going to step up and be a playmaker.
Moving Woz to the right side changed the game.

Well the higher ups at SJU must be happy with the number of people paying to watch otherwise they would likely cut the price or make it free. General admission ticket price is $10....the live stream is of good quality...IMO a $10 fee isn't outrageous. I've said before that it used to bother me but I'm over it.
Earlier this week i was checking out some high school football livestreams and a number of them charged a fee so i chose not to pay.
From what I've heard football is an expensive sport...if there's a chance to generate revenue then do it. Ever wonder how much it costs to feed 190 football players during camp? It's got to cost thousands of
$$$.

The top 25 recap says Bethel's Jaran Roste got injured. Hope it's not serious for him.

"The 13th-ranked Bethel Royals put up a big win against Pacific Lutheran, but it may have come at a high cost. Bethel quarterback Jaran Roste left the game after four plays with what appeared to be a wrist injury. Video showed his hand being immobilized as he walked off the field. George Bolt came on in relief and threw two touchdown passes, while Bryce Kunkle ran for 116 yards and a score as well."

Fun game.

*  The defense is well balanced and fast.  They clearly had the UWW offense rattled in the second half and shut them down good.  If this is the start of their play and they improve from here then they will be very, very good and will keep us in any game.

*  Trost will be a very, very tired boy by the end of the season.  It was a shame to lose Vouk before the year even started.

* Hopefully that rock hard run defense we saw from UWW represents the toughest around.  It certainly shows the task ahead for our offense when playing those big boys.

* And hopefully our success in the air shows that we can fight our way through the toughest opposition.  A 270 yard, three TD game kind of crept up on us out of nowhere.

* Speaking of AirJohnnie, Alex Larson is like a cheat code.

* Speaking of cheat codes and other gamer terms, Wozniak is leet.

* Also speaking of AirJohnnie, I thought Syverson showed great vision, anticipation and an arm which can hit the challenging target.  I thought he had a lot of errant balls, throwing quite a few passes behind the target, but then saw he finished the day 25 of 34 with three TDs and only one interception.  His first two incompletions were straight drops as well.  So he had a spectacular day, particularly for the first game of the season against the UWW defense.  I've got some high hopes for his play.

* Lastly, mistakes.  UWW made a number and the Johnnies capitalised.  The Jays made a few but UWW couldn't do anything with them (remember the muffed punt that gifted the Warhawks a redzone start and exactly zero points?).  These Johnnies looked really tuned in and ready to play.  Very little rust to knock off to start this year.

Great start to the season, Johnnies.  Two-thirds of an incredibly challenging start are still ahead.  Let's hope the boys stay focused and ready to make their contribution to the legacy unrivalled.

Ravi Alston had a good game last night. 3 rec for 48 and 1 TD and a long of 29. He also posted on his Instagram story a reminder of where he got his start.

While my personal care factor was minimal, I did weigh in on last weeks poll here regarding the Johnnies uniform colors for opening day. Wasn't worth $10 to find out (see thread above).

Now I curiously find myself burning in anticipation to know  ::)

The answer is....................................?

Last year I tried to watch the free Cobber webcast of the SJU game played in Moorhead, MN. The quality of it was so bad they should have paid me to watch it. The camera operator was consistent about not being able to follow the play. It was also great how he/she managed to never pan in so we could actually see the game. Also the announcer sounds like someone's uncle that maybe played JV football in high school 40 years ago but really doesn't know a football from a futbol.
In all seriousness the Cobber webcast is horrible and will likely be the contributing factor to finally get me to drive up to Moorhead the next time the Johnnies play at the Jake.

Thanks Duff. Looks like I get 40 cents on my $100 laydown!
