The big play where UW Stout took the lead for the first time vs GAC with seconds to go.

What a great way to win, good for UW-Stout. Did the Stout WR get away with a little offensive pass interference on the play? Maybe. Congratulations to the Blue Devil squad.

I thought the receiver pushed off to knock the DB off stride resulting in his stumbling. Glad I was't the only voice.

There might have been some contact, but the DB went to the ground on his own accord. That won't go over well during film session.
Some of this might need to go on the GAC coaches.  The defensive set was questionable for that situation.  The safeties were only about 10 yards of the ball at the snap.  A first down won't hurt like a deep ball will.

Yeah. It looks like the D was playing the short yardage scenario without respecting the long ball.

I noticed that too. I kept looking for the safety over the top, but he never came close. It's situations like those you almost let them have the first down if its something shallow and over the middle, but the safety is basically lining up at the 5 yard line and letting nothing behind him.

I'm not saying the contact brought him the the ground. But it seems pretty clear that the receiver extends his left arm and the DB noticeably slows up. Looked like a bit of a push to me, enough that you can argue for a OPI call. Obviously, I'm looking at what amounts to be the Zapruder film. The official was right there. Maybe the DB slowed as he tried looking up for the ball. That happens sometimes.

Can't do anything to change it now.

Unless... we would like to endeavor to do a full blown analysis of the pass interference rules like we did the for the no advance of a fair catch rule? I'm game. ;)

Was this the same crew as the the "delay of game no call" crew?

Yes

Also the GAC quarterback had a gutsy performance...suffered a broken wrist and torn ligaments in his non throwing arm on the first drive and still managed to throw for 467 yards...he's now out for the season.

That's a heck of a performance.  He rightly deserves the Old Time Hockey Award.

It's inspiring to see that sort of commitment but a real shame he's out for the season.

Has anyone heard anything on Trost's injury?

Gary said on the 9/15 coaches show that he was held out of practice but should be good to go. Sounds like Mohr has nagging hamstring issues, and Carter Trom was the OL who took the unfortunate Achilles injury (play by play breakdown about 8:30 in).

This is were the Vouk season ender hurts, but it would probably be wise to mix in a bit more Feddema and Underwood. Both seem like good options for swing passes, and I can only imagine the space that could get created with Buck and Larson out in the mid range and VanErp over the top to go along with the run game.

I watched Underwood make a bunch of big plays in high school @CDH. Hoping he's got a a breakout game coming up.

The Bear says that was definitely a performance. Ice Bear sends serious props his way. Sucks he is out for the season.

A Royal goes to his Johnnie mate's place to watch the BU vs SJU game. As the game finishes, the Johnnie's 8-year-old son gets out of the chair, goes to the fridge and gets his dad a beer.

The Royal sees this and asks, "What was that all about?"

"Oh, that? Well, every time the Johnnies beat the Royals, he gets me a beer from the fridge."

"What does he do if the Royals win?"

"I don't know; he's only 8."

So glad my days of fall softball are over. Where do they have her playing. I always loved when a team was placed in Tier 7 and had to road trip up to St. Cloud or down to Mankato for an 8 am game!!!

We've got a round 1 bye, so we don't play till 9:30, and it's at Wayzata High School, which is about 5 miles from our house. It's not bad other than having to miss the Bethel game.
