Most importantly, TOP was 35:04 SJU, 25:56 GAC.

GAC has a good team.  Definitely one of the best offenses in the league.

SJU made some good adjustments at the half.

I was not impressed by that crew of officials

While SJU made some good 2nd half adjustments, I believe the biggest factor was that the GAC qb hurt his throwing shoulder just before the end of the 1st half. While he didn't come out of the game, at the start of the 3rd quarter he came over to a trainer and had them check out his shoulder. You could tell it affected him as his throws were well off target the whole second half, mostly low and short. The best example was on the 4th quarter interception, the receiver was a good 4-5 yards behind the defender but the ball was severely under thrown and intercepted.

I also agree it wasn't very well officiated.

I was unaware about the 2 year cycle. It makes sense and it appears Carleton has earned that reward (if you can call it that).

Was waiting on the box score to finally come out. TOP aside, our defense held a strong offense (stat-wise) to about half of their usual production. Really impressed with Underwood today. Didn't pick up much in the rush but he was killer in the pass out of the back. Interesting wrinkles in the offense with multiple TEs and rolling out. Wheeler was also about one grab of the leg away from a couple of big KO returns.

Larson's 2 TD day brings him to within 2 of tying the TE receiving record I believe. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get there next week.

I remember one illegal formation by SJU in the second half that never was called. Basic stuff and no whistle.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Badgers / Boilermakers yesterday and the game wasn't even that close. A pick six  on Purdue's first possession and another interception deep in Purdue territory led to another Badger TD.

Also here's a no helmet play for you to discuss...

From the comments it sounds like the kicking team got a re-do.

SJU up to #4. The UWW drop stopped just ahead of Bethel. I'm sure the Steve Johnson burner Ice Bear has an opinion on that.

He wasn't the ball carrier so the play was allowed to continue. It appeared that the kick hit him in the helmet which caused his helmet to come off so nothing wrong there. He didn't touch the ball after his helmet came off and didn't block anyone so he wasn't really involved or affect any outcome, so I guess I don't see anything to discuss.

I think the top 11, at least - maybe even further down, is very uncertain.  Unlike previous years there was a clear breakaway group of three or four teams that had a big gap over those that trailed them.  This year, it's not clear that is the case at all.  There are only four undefeated teams in the top 11 and it is not certain that they are exceptionally in front of the teams with losses.   Bethel, for example, could be a monster program except for a sprained wrist in one unfortunate week.

On Bethel and just between us kids here on the MIAC boards, Roste is not the only big game hunter that Bethel has this year.  The squad is loaded with seniors all over the place.

I can't remember a year where there was this much lack of clarity on the top 4-5, not to mention all the way through the top 13-14 or so. I have no clue what will come out of the WIAC, probably feels like a one bid league this year. But you could talk me into 2 to 3 as capable of a playoff run. Bethel and SJU both look primed to make a run, but decent chance the loser at seasons end stays home. Crazy year.
