Game notes for SJU @ St. Scholastica are up:

https://gojohnnies.com/news/2022/10/26/sju-footballs-week-9-game-notes-at-st-scholastica.aspx

Feeling super confident about this week. Johnnies have a huge edge in average time of possession. That's super hard to overcome if you're the Saints.

Man, looking through some of those stats, it's going to be a long day to be a Saints player/coach/fan.

Having not paid attention to them at all, I was surprised to see that they beat Hamline, and had a competitive game with Olaf.  I would expect that they'll have a decent game with Mac too....but yeah, I would think that SJU could probably play the bottom of their depth chart at every position and still win.

Definitely for this one because it's in Duluth so the Johnnies will have a smaller roster, unlike home games.

The Freshmen & Sophomores on the travel squad will get plenty of snaps. It's audition time to move up on the depth chart  8-)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Looking forward to seeing what Zander Dittbenner's got!

Do you think we see him before halftime?

Gary pulled Chris Backes early- to mid-second quarter last year. Given some of the struggles on offense, I think he may want the first team to get more reps.

Was just going through the box score from last year's game and recalled the name RJ Altidort.  Looks like he transferred to Mount Union.

Pat Coleman

He doesn't have any catches this season, at least not for the varsity team.

Pierre Garcon transferred to Mount Union and thrived, but a couple of prominent D-III players (including an All-America running back) have transferred to Mount Union and barely seen the field.

Chris Denton also had a great career at Mount (Norwich as well), but contrary to popular belief Mount hasn't been built by transfers.  Especially D3 to D3.

He wasn't a main receiver at SJU, but I recall him making some good catches last year.

For all the seniors and upperclassman who came back or are starting there is a nice group forming who are seeing minutes now.

Offense
#0 TE - Fr (caught TD pass)
#2 WR - Fr (not starting but worked in rotation)
#3 QB - Fr (current backup)
#27 RB - Fr (rushing TD and returning kickoffs)
#50 OL - So (was starting and lost to injury?)
#54 OL - So (starting)
#55 OL - So (in rotation)
#72 OL - So (current starting center)
#85 TE - Fr (rotating in with Jungels)

Defense
#3 LB - So (starting)
#11 DB - Fr (starting)
#43 LB - So (starting)

I'm sure there are a few more who have at least seen a bit of action.
