That's not the injury but he will start.

Just passing along what's being reported:

@d3football
QuoteNews of note in the MIAC title game. Roste reportedly just had a bruised sternum. #d3fb

I get that. Just saying it's "fake news" and they are mixing up Kirchoff for Roste.

DuffMan

LOL, 100% serious that my first thought was about Kirchoff.  :D

I think the real scenario is that Roste had to have his non-throwing arm amputated but will still be starting.

Well before your time, I'm sure. 1969 - 1972

Just by a minute or two   ;)

Were there a lot of other MIAC teams at that point?

We played Carlton, but I don't remember other MIAC squads. We played teams from U of M, U of W, in Tournaments in Chicago and Winnepeg. If you want more info, I can look in my "Up the Long Ladder" by Brian Schnese, history of SJU Rugby. BTW, the first year was 1967.

Very cool - didn't know that it had been around that long in MN.

Most of the MIACs had clubs in my years (UST was just getting one when I was a senior), as well as most of the D2 teams.  U of M plays D1, but they played in the All Minnesota tournament once as a tune-up for them when I was a junior - it wasn't pretty for us.  Otherwise their B-side played other MN teams frequently - they were good, not great.

The Best of 2022: Bumps, tackles and smothers.

It's a pretty good highlights package.

And here are the Best Marks of 2022 along with the Best Goals of 2022.  There are some beauties in those highlight packages.

Had to wait until literally the final seconds of the podcast to get it, but it survived the final cut!
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

Turned the furnace on for the first time today, 11/11 is a new record for our household! It was 59 degrees this morning and I couldn't hold off my daughter any longer. It will be nice to come home to a warm house after a Johnnie victory tomorrow!

I had forgotten this was still going on because I had assumed everyone was out.

Congrats, Champ!
