In other news, Jackson Erdmann announces retirement:

Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

I'm glad the present chairman of the committee is retiring.... He's a complete bull**** artist in my opinion and has no idea how to set up a decent bracket.

Hasn't done it the whole time he was there.

The present chair of the committee is in his first year as the chair of the committee, so not sure what you're talking about.

Nobody ever knows what Bluenote is talking about.

We can actually say that about a few Linfield posters on here.

Yeah, Aurora with Gavin Zimbleman have the Johnnies all they could handle.  SJU almost certainly got a weaker 1st round opponent, but should both SJU and UWW win, I'd prefer UWW's 2nd round opponent.

Apparently his replacement picked up where he left off pretty well. I want to say he's gotten a nod in a TOTW.

#1 seed for SJU!

NWC is first round victim.

AO what's the spread for opening round SJU hosting Northwestern?
I always use a 3rd party to pick the spread for Northwestern games.

Can't wait to hear AO bitch about the track around the field at Clemens.  ;)
I only criticize out of love.  ;D Clemens is truly a special place and I'm excited my team is making another trip North.

Looks like Saturday is going to be effing cold.  I'm not acclimated to this crap yet.  Robert Zimmerman should be fine, though.

Maybe as cold as your Fred Jackson Coe College game....where the SprinTurf rep and I were repairing the seams at 1am (glue wouldn't stick)....forgot to remove the spikes we used to hold things in place overnight...

The Bethel/Wheaton game should be a good slugfest. Gonna need to stop the Weeks-powered run game and likely use short to mid passing game to negate their front seven.

This why I worry about our offense. It gets really difficult to have an effective passing game when the ball is hard as a rock and if the wind kicks up it can ground an offense.

They're not going to switch schemes at this point.  Heckendorf has made it clear that we're going to throw, throw, throw.

Cold yes but beautifully sunny, 16 degrees with wind chill at -2 fahrenheit. Freddie Jackson was very good for Coe and went for 150 however our "HorseMan" Kent Crowley romped to a 21 for 183 yard day.

2002 was bookmarked by two losses, one to the Blugolds of Eau Claire and the semifinal loss to Trinity in San Antonio, 41-34.  Torrid comeback by the J's in second half which ended with a phantom facemask called against Jeremy Hood. If I recall correctly Trinity ran 14 consecutive running plays on that final series.

Agreed and it's obvious that the short passing game is our running game. If we can continue to find success with that it might cause teams to drop more defenders into coverage and open the running game up.

Freddie was all they had.  They couldn't stop our offense, and we kept them out of the endzone, for the most part.  The 4th quarter got real cold--we had a teammate's GF (now wife) go buy us hot cocoa from the concession stand.  We didn't have that monstrosity heater that they had this past weekend!  :o
