Heh, some of those aren't too bad.

When I was home over Christmas this year, KOZY was still using some of the same drops we used over 35 years ago.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

#2 is spending 3 1/2 months in Europe with her cousin.  They'll meet up in different cities and countries with about 600 Aussie friends who are also travelling over there.  Maybe not quite that many but Aussies love to backpack across Europe.  She spends 8 days in Budapest, most of it at some pointless doof doof music festival (which is on an island in the river flowing through the middle of the medieval city and is a beautiful setting, I must admit), and is only about 150 miles from the Ukrainian border.  Fortunately, Ukraine is a very large country and the fighting is as far away from the Hungarian border as you can get.

Mine are 3, 5, and 7, so I have some time—but not that much time.

I saw a graphic or headline recently that said something like 75% of the time you spend with your kids will be fore they are 12 and 90% of the time will be before they are 18.
Having a 19 and 23rd I can attest that you don't get a lot of time with them after they're done with high school.

@Sam, I'll only pass on these commandments from my wife.  She said I have only two responsibilities as a father to girls:

1. "The first man a girl falls in love with is her father.  So set a good standard."

2. "A girl who doesn't get a kiss goodnight from her father will go looking for them elsewhere.  So make sure she knows you love her."


I don't know where she came up with those from but she keeps my on my toes always.  And I'm fortunate I didn't have boys, I guess, because I'm not sure my wisdom would have been any more substantial than, "Let the kid use fireworks, for Chrissake."
