Seems like Lamker is moving the program in the right direction.  :)

I saw him and his Mrs. walking the other day.  I told him to stay out of our neighborhood.  :o

Kickoff lunch was held yesterday in Collegeville. Gary reportedly mentioned 10 transfers are in camp. That seems like larger number than in recent years. I don't recall hearing much about any of them during the off season. I believe one is an o-lineman from UM-Duluth. Anyone have any intel on the others?

I searched through it and found the following 10 transfers. Some observations:

*4 players that were on D1 rosters
*2 players making their return behind the pine curtain and the cardinal and blue
*A 6'6" tight end...why not book end him and Larson and just throw it up to them all day?
*A former quarterback from Rosemount...we've had an Irish QB once before. This guy looks a little quicker than Jackson...maybe we'll see him move to another position on offense?
*A running back that was at a Pac 12 school...when it still was the Pac 12.

1 Marselio Mendez WR     NDCS
4 Cooper Downs   QB      Central
10 RJ Altidort       WR      San Bernardino and Mount Union
15 Vincent Pyne   QB       SW State
22 Jaxson Sawyer RB      Washington State
23 Jack Foster      TE       Brown 6'6" 240
23 Quintcy Suggs  RB      UST and SW State
29 Cage Linton      DB     NDCS
57 Colton Rada     OL      South Dakota
77 Carter Trom     OL      Bemidji St

Faunch, doin' the hard work.  Much appreciated.  A transfer from the Ivy League.  That's interesting.  Although of all the Ivy League schools, Brown is the last one I would expect to have a football team.  I would expect Brown and football to go together like ice cream and bacon.

The kid from Brown was an excellent HS QB. Played at Mankato Wesr.

That's a good looking bunch of transfers.  Jaxson Sawyer is a 6-1, 205 freshman.  If he ends up a four-year brute at RB, that will be fun to watch.

Also, I nominate Cage "Fighter" Linton as the new owner of coolest name on the roster.

Aha... Repete dropping the bombs.  And he's a sophomore.

How about a tight end option pass to Larson?

Doesn't matter but it looks like Foster and 77 Trom were on the roster last year. 5 Moberg looks to have transferred in from Sacred Heart and 8 Goettlicher transferred in from D2 Sioux Falls. There's also a Canadian transfer, 18 Caligiuri.

Looks like we picked up a new coach as well, https://gojohnnies.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/graydon-kulick/928.

Keep up--I broke that news in April.  ;D

Rumors of a new QB coach at SJU...
Quote from: DuffMan on April 07, 2023, 12:11:01 PM
Mike Orts was, but he took an OC position at Baldwin Wallace last season.  I don't think SJU had an offical QB coach in 2022.

Graydon Kulick, who, from what I had heard, was transferring to SJU right as COVID hit, has "Quarterbacks Coach @ Saint John's University" listed in his Twitter bio.

Did some googling - the Mendez kid is "advertised" as being first team JUCO All-American and leading JUCO in several receiving categories. Cooper Downs threw for over 1400 yards and 16 TD's in 8 games at Central. Pyne was a prolific runner in HS.

Sorry Oz, Australia is the first team knocked out at the Little League World Series.

Head Coach is a cool dude however.  He bought T shirts for all the Cuba coaches. They cost $24 which is how much the Cuba HC makes in a month.

Team was solid, but the competition is pretty stiff. #LLWS

That's a shame. It's always a pleasant surprise when the LLWS pops up on the tv and you can watch the boys play some ball.
