I reckon Trinity v UHMB will be game of the week.  Both teams with a loss and their backs against the wall?  They will be playing for keeps.

Having seen some of the River Falls game last week, I expect Trinity to Monkey Stomp UMHB - at a minimum.

Not sure about a monkey stomp especially when it's two heavy hitters from Texas...but a 10-14 point win for Trinity wouldn't be a surprise.

Art, excellent use of Monkey StompTM.  I don't expect The Cru to crap the bed again.  I could see that game going either way, but if Trinity is back to full or near-full strength, I think they'll win.

I will be there.

Will you be shouting from the rooftops all of the advantages that WIAC schools have?

I'm wondering if Trinity will have their All-American linebacker for the first half. It sounds like they were going to appeal the targeting ejection to the NCAA.

Most people (e.g. Pat Coleman) have a high degree of confidence that the targeting call will be tossed.  Probably won't know for sure until they release the two deep on Saturday.

UMHB will definitely bring more to the table Saturday than they did in Wisconsin.  They have owned this rivalry - to the point it couldn't be considered one until Trinity's recent resurgence - having won seven straight.  Trinity's last W came in 2002.  So in addition to overcoming what just happened in Collegeville, they have to get over the mental hurdle of not having beaten those guys since all but the fifth-years were born.

It appears last week's game is no longer available to watch at the MIAC Network.  Is it archived somewhere?

DuffMan

I was wondering how long they'd leave it available.  I know it was watchable for several days afterwards, but I'd be surprised if it's available anymore.

Targeting should not penalized with an ejection in D3 or any level that does not have replay. Assess a 15 yard penalty and have the player sit out for 5 plays. If he gets another personal foul penalty in the game then eject him.
Also there's enough video at D3 games that there could be a review process.
After the player was ejected at SJU on Saturday there was a video replay on the video board and it showed clearly that it was not targeting.

Hmm... I'm not sure what I think on this.  For a penalty that is so significant, the refs have to 100% be sure they are right.  But the penalty is so significant because the offense is serious.  So just because there is no replay then I don't think we should do away with the penalty.

Is there a way to increase the standard of judging the offense to "beyond a doubt"?  I know that refs only flag penalities they think happened, but is there a way to make it double secret sure?

Take this weekend, for example.  No one in the stadium thought it was targetting until the refs stood discussing it for so long.  And even then, no one though it was targetting, just that they started to suspect that was what the refs were discussing.  The refs clearly called it from the perspective of making sure they didn't miss a target, rather then making sure they didn't eject unfairly.  In (what they thought was a close call) they went with the ejection.  Can that perspective be flipped?
