Because it's not targeting.  It's called tackling.

Whatever minor helmet contact may have occurred was clearly incidental--Bjork clearly went in low.

From watching that video, the QB's head snaps backwards. If he hit his shoulder pads, how would the head snap back. I will assume that not one Johnnie fan will think it's targeting.
Newton's First Law: Inertia

An object at rest remains at rest, and an object in motion remains in motion at constant speed and in a straight line unless acted on by an unbalanced force.
Newton's first law states that every object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change its state by the action of an external force. This tendency to resist changes in a state of motion is inertia. If all the external forces cancel each other out, then there is no net force acting on the object.  If there is no net force acting on the object, then the object will maintain a constant velocity.

Examples of inertia involving aerodynamics:

The motion of an airplane when a pilot changes the throttle setting of an engine.
The motion of a ball falling down through the atmosphere.
A model rocket being launched up into the atmosphere.
The motion of a kite when the wind changes.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Looking forward to the Bethel v St Johns game tomorrow.  Bethel has a great defense, but I don't know how many points they can score against the Johnnie D.

On the other hand, I was looking at the schedules earlier in the year and have been meaning to ask...what's the deal with the Carlton v St Olaf game in a few weeks.  I know it is for one of the best trophies in all of college football, but it is also listed as Homecoming for both teams.  Do they do that often?  I know they are in the same town, but I've been around organized football for 35 years and I've never seen a team play a Homecoming game on the road.  I don't know how close both campuses are, but Loras, U of Dubuque and Clarke college are all in a 10 block radius of each other, and I've never seen them play a dual homecoming game.  Is it a weird scheduling thing, a Minnesota thing, or just a Nordic Heritage thing?

It is highly unusual.  My only guess is St. Olaf didn't want to have homecoming in early September or late October.  It just seems wrong that we would have the football game as an away game.  Of course the football game is usually an activity and not a focal point of the weekend.  I think this is stupid!  Also St. Olaf used to be pretty beloved by the people of Northfield.  I think some of this is starting to change.  Christmas Fest was moved off campus which means the restaurants and hotels don't get that additional revenue.  I think it returns to campus next year as part of the rotation.  Not having the additional homecoming revenue over 2 weekends for restaurants hurts.  There are a lot of people in town that are not happy about some of these changes.

Was at the game yesterday. Johnnies D played better than I expected and Bethel's offense was worse than I expected (although Kidder appeared to be injured, which obviously was a factor). Anyone have any insight on what the Bethel bench did to get a penalty on the Van Earp touchdown?

VOJ was saying at the time that Johnson was going nuts because he perhaps thought the Johnnies had set up a pick to get Van Erp so open.

Could be a battle for the MIAC Skyline title--how the heck did Concordia get put into the Skyline division?

Defender comes in head down eyes looking at the ground, crown of the helmet contacts the QBs facemask, pretty easy call.

;D  The rules definitely put the defender in a tough spot, we're basically asking them to play as if they don't have a helmet and they need to completely avoid going in head first but the offense will  be going head first and low.

I guess it evens out the average travel distance while keeping the competitive balance between the divisions. Bethel's offensive lull puts a lot of pressure on their defense to make stops. We'll see if Skyline opponents can sling it around and put points on the board. Sheehan was 20/25 and the leading rusher against GAC. GAC had a rough opening quarter and, from the broadcast, broken coverage led to open receivers for Sheehan to toss to. SJU had a pretty solid defensive outing against Bethel. It looks like we made a DB change with Goettlicher, one of the transfers, coming in.

Breitbach is about halfway to cracking the top 10 for receiving yards in a season, would need to average ~121yds/game to get to #2, and ~175yds/game for #1 if I'm looking at the record book accurately. He's currently averaging 213 after three games with 180 against Augsburg. Would be a helluva senior season for the guy who seems to be Sandven's go-to.

https://arkeonews.net/czech-scientists-make-celtic-beer-using-analysis-of-pollen-from-burial-site/

The homemade brews all taste like bath water to me.  What do you think bath water from the 1st century BC tasted like?

Quote

"Usually in the prehistorical beer there are ingredients used for the taste and ingredients used for preserving the content. There is meadowsweet or filipendula ulmaria, sage or salvia officinalis and mugwort or Artemisia vulgaris, which make the sour bitter taste of the beer of course.

"What was quite unexpected was the discovery of clover, which is quite unusual and isn't usually used in beer. But then we realised that it's most common pollen found in the honey. So it is possible that this beer was sweetened with honey."

Quote
It's a little bit different from today's beers because it is not based on hops. The herbs give it a bitter and sour flavour and the taste is similar to gruit, which is a type of hop-free beer."

Called TauriALE will be produced in the future by Palack University's Eureka brewery in Olomouc and will be available on special occasions.

Gotta have Mick's Office in the Skyline logo.  8-)

Juuueeeez, the Dolphins put 70 on the Broncos. 726 yards of offence.  1089 yards from both teams combined.

Was there no defence in that game?  I need to watch those highlights.

Your neighbor Lamker is a good coach and definitely legit.

Here's the targeting call, ya bunch of malcontents:

https://youtu.be/BEXx3A9AVEQ

It's funny that VOJ calls it targeting right away (before the flag) and then is outraged at the call, can't possibly believe it. Officials don't get the benefit of the replay on that
