Great to read that follow-up.  We were at the game and followed along with his recvoery on CaringBridge for quite a while, but it's awesome to see how well he's doing now.

Wondering....should I do the chain gang at Highland Park HS on Saturday afternoon or drive up to Collegeville for the Cobber game. After last week I'm a little less interested in watching this Johnnie team.
Will we look like an improved team?

I have the same dilemna.  I could theoretically make it up after Jr's 10:30 game, but I have about a billion fall chores that I should work on.

No disrespect to the Auggies, and kudos to the game they played, but something seemed off last Saturday.  It was a trap game, untimely penalties, and the guys just seemed gassed.  I don't see this Johnnies team making a deep playoff run, but hopefully they can right the ship and play better ball here on out.

I just looked at SJU's sack stats:
Last year after four games we had 12
This year we are at 7

Last year for the season we had 39
This year we are on pace for 17.5

Keep in mind the first four games last year were against UWW, UWRF, Bethel and Concordia.
To say we have issues on the d-line is an understatement.

I have 4 tix for Saturday's game, if anyone can use them.  45-yard line with seat backs.

I've got a pair of general admission for this weekend. If you don't get rid of all of yours let me know so I can seat squat!!

Woz and Metah through 4 games: 7.5
Woz and Metah for the season: 17

Probably a little easier going last year for the other 9 guys on the field when the left side of the d-line does this, often through double teams.

That's exactly what I meant when I said:

We're missing that dominant d-lineman that creates havoc.

Typically, SJU's had a dominant lineman (or 2) that commands attention and helps to free up the other guys (who are still good, but not AA good).  They don't have that this year (yet?).

I think the concern thus far this season has been consistency in all phases of the game. With the amount of returners you'd think we'd have gotten through some of the new season hiccups. Hopefully we're just slowly ripping the bandaid off and we'll start to see more complete performances. With SJU and Bethel a little wobbly it wouldn't be a surprise to see the MIAC due for some twists and turns this season.

Sorry about no summaries this week. Kind of a crazy week on my end. Starting your own solo law practice is a little bit more hectic than I had ever envisioned.

Somehow Augsburg just refuses to regress to the mean when it comes to the spread. They beat the spread again in resounding fashion. St. Olaf sneaks in as the other lone undefeated against the spread this season.

Sharing the message i sent to you earlier today...

"Decided not to go the the game tomorrow...
After last week I just can't justify spending close to 3 hours on the road and 6 hours of my day on this team....just not enamored by them...I'll probably break down and pay for the video stream."

SJU has grown too full of themselves...we are at best a top 15 program in D3 that thinks they are something special.

Vacationing and out of pocket for a few weeks, but had to jump on to see if anyone discussed the Olaf v. Carleton subplot.

Jordan Embry couldn't play last year because Carleton banned him from being on their campus for 1 year, so he decided to come back for his 5th year just so he could play Carleton again. Details of the ban were a fight on Carleton campus. Multiple parties involved but only serious penalty was given to Embry, which conveniently meant he could not (edit) play vs Carleton last year. Olaf athletic dept people thought it was pretty shady. Could get interesting ...
